Boss Z
Thank you. It's just something I noticed. I don't really play MtG, but the card effects seem incredibly confusing with all of the effect types that assume you know what they mean, like "Landwalk" and "Multikicker". With Yu-Gi-Oh!, there isn't as much terminology you have to learn.
You subtype reminded me clearly of the Sliver Group of Magic... check them I am an avid player of Magic and honestly it takes about 20 minutes to learn there terms, plus for several sets when a new ability is released (and then later after a few years) they add dummy-text explaining th abilities... which can't really be done in YuGiOh based on the traditional card format, but this does allow for a wider variety of abilites to take up less space on cards
Screw it, I'm just going to rip off Exalted from MTG because I'm too lazy to think of anything simpler:Turret AceEARTHMachine/Support3/1200/900If a non-Support Monster attacks, at the end of the Damage Step, you can activate the following effect:~Discard 1 card to destroy 1 card on the field OR inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. You cannot activate this effect if this card has attacked this turn. Sniper SquadEARTHWarrior/Support4/1700/200If a non-Support monster attacks, you can activate the following effect:~Negate the activation and effect of cards that activate during the Damage Step, except Support Monsters, and destroy them. You cannot activate this effect if this card has attacked this turn.Fairy VeilLIGHTFairy/Support2/300/500If you control another monster besides "Fairy Veil", this card cannot be attacked. If a non-Support monster attacks, you can apply the following effect:~The attacking monster cannot be destroyed by card effects during this battle. You cannot apply this effect if this card has attacked this turn.Soul of the Fiend SwordDARKFiend/Support1/0/0If you control a non-Support monster, this card cannot be attacked. If a non-Support monster attacks, you can apply the following effect:~Increase the ATK of the attacking monster by 900. You cannot apply this effect if this card has attacked this turn.
I used to have a Support Archtype type (it was actually basically the Slivers (like I commented on up above)) but there are very interesting cards none-the-less Link to comment
Icy
>Is there a chance that this could be implemented into YVD somehow? Nope, we'd need to hardcode an entirely new client. Link to comment
.Rai
Too bad. Really hoping we could implement a new subtype. Oh well for difficult coding. @A Veritable Truth: Pretty good idea. My only problem with some Sub-Types is that they can be implemented into archetypes. Toon is totally useless while Spirit does have its Archetypal qualities. There is that problem of finding something that is useful and playable but at the same time, isn't simply just something an archetype could do just as well. Link to comment
