Phantom King Hide Ride (Manga)

Recommended Posts

Level 3/1500/300/Tuner/Effect:
"You can Tune this card with Tuners to Synchro Summon."

Type and Attribute: Unknown

Confirmed for release in about half a year as one of the next V-Jump subscription promos.

The idea of a tuner that can sync with other tuners is interesting to say the least. Discuss.

Does it treat the tuners as non-tuners or do the tuners treat it as a non-tuner? I'm asking this because I'm curious as to how this affects archetype specific synchro summons.

I believe it turns the other Tuners to non-Tuners
Also, use with Tuners (with effects of gaining effects when used) with this to for possible +1.
But I can't think of any Tuners that use effects when used for Synchro Summons, except Bri Synchron, and Flare Resonator.
This + 2 Flare Resonator = 3300 ATK Trishula...?

Its poorly written the way it is. It simply says you can Synchro Summon using it with other tuners. I could see it as one of the two ways:

A: You can use as many Tuners as you want for the Synchro Summon, so long as Phantom King is one of the Synchro Material Monsters. That should mean you can still Summon Junk Destroyer for example, so long as you still used "Junk Synchron" as the Tuner, and using "Phantom King" as the non-tuner.

B: its effect may only work if "Phantom King" IS used as the Tuner, which would mean you couldn't Synchro Summon Junk Destroyer, even if you used "Junk Synchron" as a Material because "Junk Synchron" isn't being used as the Tuner, but "Phantom King" is.

Doesn't seem to be enough info from just that lore and I could see it as either or o.x; In A's case, its still being used to Synchro Summon with other Tuner(s), so don't see how A could be wrong, though B seems possible too thanks to it saying "You can tune THIS card with Tuners", where as the Tuner, you could use other tuners with it. <_>

Also, does it have ONLY Tuners for the Synchro, or a mix-or-match thing?

I believe you can use both Tuners and non-Tuners. Since it says "you can". Also, I just realized.

If i said "You can tune this card with Non-Tuners to Synchro Summon", you would think that this would exclude other Tuners from being used.

If i said "You can tune this card with Tuners to Synchro Summon", in the same fashion, you could exclude Non-Tuners.

Therefore, if you choose to use its effect to tune with other tuners, then its possible that only other tuners could be used. With all these ideas going around, probably would be best to hold off until more info is out about it.

I really don't like how people say "Should have _____". For some cards it makes sense, but not EVERY card has to be compatible with broken cards. Variety is a good thing, and as time goes on perhaps they will find their own place in which they gain further support.

Not every card should be DARK, that's why other Attributes exist. Not every card should be Winged-Beast, that's why other Types exist. Not everything should be Level 3...

Should also have been FIRE with 200 DEF.

Should have the ability to draw all 5 pieces of exodia with trap immunity and the ability to stop your opponent from being able to normal, special, or flip summon while also being a spellcaster level 8 that can special summon itself for free, and can change its type, level and attribute at any time whether it's in your hand, deck, graveyard, field or remove from play zone. Should have a clause that lets you adjust attack so that it's attack is equal to 12x your opponent's lifepoints while it's on your field, but you can adjust its attack and defense at any time no matter where it is based on how many points you want it to have.

But it don't.
