burnpsy
This card will never be hit. It can be abused here and there, but so can a lot of other cards. Merely being abusable isn't enough. Mali fueled a popular draw engine, this doesn't.

CNo.101 S.H. Death Knight
i have posted a question in the link from exceed summon ruling page recently because we don't know if while being an EMM it can still trigger or so, but looking at this as in any ways it be removed from the field.... it just seem so abusable that it will likely to be semi-limited to the next ban list =_=

There have been rulings for cards like "Sangan" for example showing they do not work when an Exceed Material is being sent to the Graveyard. Exceed Materials on an Exceed Monster are not considered to be "on the field.". "Reborn Tengu" would not be considered on the field either in this case, so it would not activate when removed from the Exceed Monster.

[/quote] When it's an Exceed Material, it is NOT considered to be on the field. Basically, it becomes a part of the Exceed monster. So if it goes to grave while being an Exceed Material, it won't activate its effect.

When its used in the first place it goes from being on the field to a state of not being on the field as a part of the exceed so would it then count it as being taken off the field to activate its effect? CDDRodrigo
It is still not considered as a monster and not considered to be on the field. So the effect won't apply.
Fraz
So going from a monster thats clearly on the field into a card which isn't on the field doesn't count as "When this card is removed from the field"?
.Nu-13
Well, technically, overlays ARE on the field and AREN'T at the same time. Basically, think of them as counters. They didn't get removed from field, but are stil unaffected by cards that affect cards on the field.
Manjoume Thunder
some people here need reading comprehension classes Anyway, Tengu should work with Exceeds. Sangan doesn't get to search for a card when he is sent to the graveyard via the effect of an Exceed monster (official ruling) => Overlaid monsters are not considered to be on the field. => If you overlay Reborn Tengu under an Exceed monster you remove him from he field and get to activate his effect. Simple logic. Disclaimer: BKSS rulings > Logic
.Nu-13
Hm, kinda makes sense, seeing as Konami said by themselves on their official page, that Tengu is supposed to help "new kind of monsters" (Exceeds obv)

.Nu-13
Well, to make it more simple, we can assume that Overlays are in "Exceed Space". Exceed Space is NOT a part of the field, so all card sent there are treated as being removed form the field. Simple now?

It would most likely not have any effect while it is an Exceed Material though, so there would be nothing to activate. Its not an Effect Monster anymore, it is simply an "Exceed Material".
