Gearmachina Domain

Recommended Posts

Just a for fun concept deck that I made, I actually won five games while playing it on YVD, I don't know if its consistent enough to be a serious deck, I went over 40 cards to make room for the essentials, what do you guys think? Any fixes? Alterations, adds to the deck you guys want to suggest?

-2 Golem
-3 Ancient Gear

To make it 40.
Why take out Golem? The point to any Ancient Gear deck is to summon him right? But I am thinking about getting rid of the small pawn Ancient Gears, that I'll probably do, but the Golem? I don't think so...

I am also not the best deck builder either... but I see this as "more" effective
And I am guessing you are not a kid with Solemns or Dualities... so I left them out
But that is a 41 card deck... and idk if 3x of Cyber Dragon is good... but it basically keeps your deck the same just makes it a bit more consistent and can thin itself rather well

-3 Ancient Gear
-2 Golem
-3 Cyber Dragon
-2 Gear Factory
-1 Mirror Force
-2 Dimensional Prison
-2 Magic Cylinder
-2 Gear Workshop

+1 Geartown
+1 Terraforming
+3 Machina Force/Perfect Machine King
+1 Limiter Removal
+1 Giant Trunade
+3 Compulsory Evacuation Device
+3 Trap Stun
+1 Call of the Haunted

I am no expert in Decks, but I wouldn't use Cyber Dragon with Chimeratech Fortress around (your opponent may use your Materials to Summon its own Chimeratech)
Instead I would focus in replacing Geartowns to Special Summon Gadjiltron(s) as soon as possible and attempt an OTK.
I am suggesting Force because they are searchable by Gearframe and can then be discarded for Summoning Fortress, but personally I would run Perfect Machine Kings as they can also be discarded for Fortress plus you can Summon him with Monster Reborn/Call of the Haunted if you ever need it.

Now, I bet by now you saw I am "negging" both Mirror Force and Dimensional Prison, which can be considered staples, and replacing them with Compulsories. I will explain why: Nowadays, most opponents will clear your field from Spell/Traps or negate them before attacking, so those 2 Traps cannot be activated in response since they require a monster to attack. Compulsory, however, doesn't have that problem and you can safely activate it the get rid of at least one of your opponent's monsters, which is better than nothing. Even if Compulsory is only getting rid of the monster temporarily (unless the target was a Fusion/Synchro), it cost your opponent his/her Normal Summon and saved you from an attack. In conclusion, Compulsory is a more reliable Trap than Mirror Force/Dimensional Prison.

Lastly, since you will be aiming for OTKs by swarming with Fortress and Gadgiltrons, I am suggesting Trap Stuns and Giant Trunade to prevent your opponent from activating cards that could ruin your last blow.

I Hope this helps you.

At above
Why did you just tell him to take out Mirror Force and D Prison and add in some worse traps than mirror and d prison?

Didn't you read my explanation above?
If you think Compulsory it's worse, it's ok, that's your opinion; but I prefer it over Traps that depend of my opponent's attacks to activate, and I shared my opinion.
But in the end, Asterisk has the last words so it's up to him if he keeps Mirror/D. Prison, or swaps them for Compulsories.
