CommanderVolt
[Card Lore] 3 Level 4 Plant-Type Monsters Once per turn, you can remove 1 of this card's Exceed Material Monsters and select 1 monster in your opponent's Graveyard. Special Summon the selected monster on your opponent's side of the field, and increase this card's ATK by half the ATK of the Summoned monster until the End Phase of the turn.. While this card has no Exceed Material Monsters, its ATK becomes 0.. Comments, criticism, OCG fixings? Also please let me know if i did anything wrong, i havent posted in RC in a very long time. Thanks.
ragnarok1945
graveyard should be Graveyard if you're going to boost its atk that way, may I suggest lowering its original attack by a little bit? It is only lv4 after all 8.4/
CommanderVolt
graveyard should be Graveyard if you're going to boost its atk that way, may I suggest lowering its original attack by a little bit? It is only lv4 after all 8.4/10
That was fast. Thank you for reviewing. I was assuming 2k Attack was fair due to requiring 3 Plant-type monsters. Giving it a decent chance to survive a turn on its own when its effect doesn't apply. What would you suggest, 1500?
ragnarok1945
Well I wasn't thinking THAT quickly, but I'd say 1200-1500 should suffice

115darc
I dont think the original ATK needs to be changed, many real exceed monsters have high ATK and DEF anyway No.39 Aspiring Emperor Eope is a rank 4, requires less material monsters and has 2500 original ATK
CommanderVolt
Well I wasn't thinking THAT quickly, but I'd say 1200-1500 should suffice
In my cards defense i will rebuttle Aspiring Emperor Hope and Gem Knight Pearl are rank 4 Exceeds with 2500 ATK and 2600 ATK respectively but only require 2 Level 4 monsters. Vylon Disigma is a fairly popular rank 4 exceed using 3 Level 4s and having an ATK of 2500 with the fantastic ability that turns into an miniature-catastor against ceartin decks. I feel as though if i made her ATK any lower then their would be no point in even putting it in the extra deck where as Disigma and other Rank 4s would gladly take its place. Having 2000 ATK means that in the current meta, it has a decent chance to survive by it self during the opponent's turn when compared to most of the common seen monsters. (Shura, Thunder King, Neos Alius, Dragunity Dux, ettc) However, mostly any Synchro, Fusion, Exceed, or Nomi monster thrown at her will be surely to over-power her. Also, Necrovalley. Had it been Summon'able by 2x Plant Type Monsters, 2000 ATK may have been too much do its effect, however it is not. It is with 3, which requires a bit of time. Plants can Swarm, but they dont particularly swarm loads of level 4s. Gigaplant mainly is level 6 and Lonefire is 3, it may be possible to do with some Spore shenanigans but why would you go for this at a situation where you could make up to level 8 in Synchros? Furthermore, your trading in 3 Plant-type monsters to summon a SPELLCASTER type monster. Which means, you lose the plethora of support the deck will usually be working with. Lastly - Time. It requires a bit of time for this card to work. Summoning it right away with limited mobs in the opponent's graveyard provides little extent to damage which is what this cards primary use would be. Most Duels in meta end-fast it takes careful set-up and would generally be used to make an opening against the opponent's lifepoints. I may be knocking my monster down, but this should be valid reasoning as to why i think it's perfectly balanced.
-Griffin
Level 4 Plant Monsters?... Er... Spore after you RFG Dandy/Lonefire and?... Yeah, Level 4 Plants aren't really used at all in competitive play. It would require changing the Main Deck significantly from current builds. I'm pretty sure Decks running this wouldn't be competitive, so it really can't be called broken, lowering the ATK would be silly. Oh, and it isn't "lv4", it's Rank 4, which is on an entirely different scale.
