...I never got how the card picture relates to the mighty being /burdened/. If anything, it looks like the mighty are having a damn easy time picking on those birds.

you had NO idea how i be wanting to ask that question! xD

it just doesn't show any relation what do ever!!!

@ENH: it's is fun card when you play it but at the same time you'd hate it when you play against it. Of course that happen to be a fair trade upon our reactions. it is true it will get more play if that happen but then again there will tend to be more substitute for it along the way,

The hand of the mighty has a sweat mark on it. He's definitely not wanting to go all out on these poor little birds, but may otherwise be forced to.

It's "A Burden on the Mighty" (or the Japanese translation on the wiki "Pain of the Leader") in regards to those that (i.e. The Hand), while having the power to easily destroy those weaker than they are, when forced to destroy the weak by a ruthless higher power (i.e. the Player), especially ones that couldn't possibly pose a threat in battle (i.e. cute birdies~), the attacking monster's conscience is holding them back and is lowering team morale (i.e. Attack Power).

That actually makes sense.

Somehow.

Just look at the birds chirping in their defense. If you had a soul, you wouldn't be able to all out attack them either if you had to.

When you think of the Japanese translated name of "Pain of the Leader", as a Leader, an event may come up where, some sacrifices may be necessary, while it may pain you to do so. Such thoughts of how many innocent people that have died under your reign based on your decision to do the right thing may "burden" your soul, and makes you less effective as a leader.

If you have no soul, then this wouldn't affect you most likely.

I think my first interpretation sounds a little better (though possibly matching "Burden of the Mighty" more than "Pain of the Leader")

Whenever I read the effect, it seems rather inconsequential. Then when people use it against me, it's one of the most frustrating cards ever, because it reduces damage and lets even mediocre monsters match your better monsters in battle. And Synchros feel the pain the most, as it drops Stardust down to a mere 1700, while your opponent's monsters are untouched.

Add to it, it tends to force all the Opponent's Spell/Trap removal to the card itself.
So it doubles as a weird form of bait.

Fun in multiples. 2 of them drops Stardust to 900 ATK, Quasar to 1600.
Number of Burdens - Stardust
0 - 2500
1 - 1700
2 - 900
3 - 100

Larvae Moth can proceed to run over whatever the Opponent-
....owait, it's only for ATK.

Ok, so me and 6 of my friends have started a yugioh circle where we meet up and play yugioh.
My friend, jacob decided to start a tournament where as soon as you lost you where out.
Me and Jacob made it to the final and the guy had 3 of these in his deck and drew 2 of them at the start.
My monsters were powerless! But then giant trunade, mystical space typhoon etc helped me out and I won the Tournament.
But because of this card it was the hardest duel i have ever won. So my opinion, its annoying as hell!

This card will die a quick death when Exceeds take off in the meta
lol yeah, Exceed can dodge this and gravity bind xD it's only the matter of time that make Rank based cards or worse a rank based of the burden of the Mighty. and of course they will make one similar to gravity bind or so, but the problem is if they make one like burden of the mightily and you make a deck that combed with King Tiger Wanghu, wouldn't having 6 copies in total of the burden of the mighty and a rank base one be over filled in the deck?

I'd think Exceeds would make this card better. They have fairly low ATK compared to Synchros of similar difficulty to bring out, and only Exceeds are immune to it. So if your opponent isn't using Exceeds, that's a bonus. Considering how some people will dismiss Exceeds off the bat, this could run rampant on persistent Synchro users.

Wait...no I meant if your opponent IS using Exceeds. This card'll die when Exceeds become the new synchro monster, like everyone knows they will. I wish they'd have a format without synchros or exceeds or even archetypes...I love classic yugioh. Weak monsters, powerful spells and traps.

The drop of sweat on his hand's indicative of the Burden, guilt. He hesitates because of ethical inhibitions telling him that to pick on those birds is wrong, thus reducing his ATK by 100 for each of his Levels.
