Christianity... Good or bad?

I'm not saying anything until you bother to back up your statement.

Done. Christianity has caused so many problems throughout the world especially in the U.S. Abortion, gay rights, etc have all question the morals of this religion. Women keep getting told not to get an abortion. And when women want too, the church shoves it down their throats until it turns them away. It's wrong to tell women what to do with their bodies. But no. The church does it anyway. And Gays and Lesbians aren't allowed to be together so the church says it's unmoral and a turning against god. And I know this is what they believe but if god knew that all people were going to be different in some way, why would he say that gay people are an abomination?

Oh? How so?

Oh, allow me.

Religion ruins everything. :/

Rather short testimony, don't you think? In any case, it doesn't matter the length, your argument boils down to this.

Opinion.

I can't say your opinion is wrong. I can say however, it isn't a fact. Others have had experiences to believe similar to you, and others were helped by religion.

Saying it ruins everything just shows the way you see it.

So you call me ignorant for a statement I make that is actually right?

People ruin everything. Religion serves as a kind of moral guideline and often have texts written against it. Same goes for any major religion. Your statement is not wrong but it is misguided.

I am part of a Christian church and we do not do any of that s***. It's extremests and people who generalize that makes religeon look bad.

I have friends who are gay. I do not shove it down their throats.

I believe abortion should be allowed until the fetus has actually developed. I'd give a specific timeframe, but I don't know the stages of fetal developement.

1. You said religion, yet you only mention Christianity. Please, correct yourself or state something completely different. You're making yourself look like an idiot.

2. You obviously have little knowledge of the Bible as a teaching book, and fail to know the actual belief system that Christianity is supposed to be based upon. The Bible teaches acceptance. The people are the ones who twist it around and contort the beliefs. Learn the difference between the actual beliefs of a religious system and the people who f*** the whole thing up. Your problem is with the people, not the religion.

Yeah, this thread totally isn't flamebait. Good job YCM.

OT: Thread Summary: Christianity is single-handedly responsible for all of the world's problems and if it disappeared the rest of the wonderful people of the world could finally live happily.

Go back and read the thread. Stop trying to be Dark and be yourself.

Revenant, I wasn't being Dark, I was taking a really sloppy sarcastic jab at Dark (and a few other members like him.) I know it's still no better, but I'm getting a little fed up with people making serious comments like that and getting praise for it. I have nothing against Dark personally, I just hate topics like this because they always end up causing a hate-war.

I missed Mew's post

Satanism is a part of Christianity that is interesting according to me. If it would'nt have sacrifices and things like that, I would be a satanist... Or maby not. I prefer being a total Atheist.

I don't like Christianity because it acctually made pepole kill very skilled scientists "in the name of God". That's why the anti-church group Illuminati was formed. They fought against the church with knowledge and logic. Then the church spread lies about that Illuminati was satanistic and killed pepole. That's not true. Illuminati was said to bring Lucifer to earth, and many took it as they would summon the demon Lucifer. Acctually, Lucifer is Light in latin, so Illuminati was'nt evil at all.

And then the Witchhammer. The biggest woman slaughter in history. Guess who wrote the book that started it? A priest.

Sure, things like priests killing scientists don't really exist any longer, but I don't think I ever can forgive Christianity for preventing humanity to evole in almost 500 years. We could live in a future city with hoovering cars by now if it was'nt for Christianity!

tl;dr - the actions of one man or group represent everyone remotely similar to them.

Yeah no, Satanism is a different religion to Christianity. It has almost entirely different beliefs, difference sources and a different history. Its usage of words is different to that of Christianity. Satanism is not the worship of the Christian Satan, because then Satanism would be part of Christianity. In order to believe in the Christian Satan, you have to be a Christian. Satanists are not Christians, their beliefs are different. The "Satan" of Satanism is different to the Satan of Christianity. Just like when the Christians say "prophet", they do not mean Muhammad or Zarathustra, they mean a Christian prophet because the others are not from their own religion. When Satanists say "Satan" they do not mean the Christian Devil. Satanists do not believe that Satan fell from Heaven, because that is a Christian belief.

Christian, Islam or any other religion has never kill anyone. It's people killing other people and use religion for their reason or excuse. The bible or the koran never told people to be evil. You don't like Christianity because they killed bunch of scientist hundreds of years ago, should you hate the muslim for terrorizing too because when the christian killing scientist, these guys kill non-believer. So point being is that people kill other people for misinterpreting no because the religion demand bloodshed in their names.

As for the illuminati, the church never spread lies about them being satanist, just that their scientific point of view goes against their belief and back then the people of the church uses christian as their weapon to gain money and other stuff so when the scientist came, the church afraid that they would money and power and other stuff so they branded these scientist blasphemy. So it's merely the church playing the political game, using religion as a tool. The Illuminati were formed as a secret society during the Enlightenment era, where the word Illuminati is the Latin plural form of "enlightened one" mainly just a group of angry protester. The so-called Illuminati of the modern day are simply an object of conspiracy theorists, who also like to pick on the Freemasons. The so called satanic illuminati group bend on making a new world oder are mainly just an idea came about from conspiracy theorists

I'm gonna come out and say something. I'm actually a, "Fundamentalist" Christian. But I STILL don't partake in any of those stereotypes, so it really is the minority of...

Well, maybe there are quite a few people who are a little out there, but they're still doing what they believe is right. Most of the time they are just blinded by politics or their own desires, whatever they may be.

In order to believe in the Christian Satan, you have to be a Christian. Satanists are not Christians, their beliefs are different.

Woah, back up now. To be a Christian, you have to accept Jesus Christ as your savior and attempt to live by his teachings and the example he set. That's how you become a Christian. I know for a fact their are a few Satanists who actually claim to worship the Satan of Christianity in order to attempt to make him ruler and satisfy their need to rebel against the Christian God. That doesn't make them Christians, even though they believe in both.

Don't take my words as preaching either. I'm just saying, it's common knowledge from a lifetime church goer and reader of the Bible.

I am a christian, but I do not go to church and I do not believe in God and Jesus or other "Supernatural" things, though Jesus has existed, but he was not "Supernatural".

I dont have anything against Christians, only those who go out and protest on things they think is wrong or try to get followers. If they want to say something about Christianity, they can go to church to talk to a minister.
