Conversely, whatever actions inevitably cause more suffering than joy are wrong. There would be much suffering and little joy in a world ravaged by wrongdoing, there would be much joy and little suffering in a world where people strive to do what is good, or what will in the long term optimize joy while minimizing suffering.
