Resident Fascist
Making your cards realistic is hard. Sure, you can use proper OCG and balance, but there are several ways to make the card as realistic as possible. 1) Naming: All Konami's cards have to comply with a Naming law, as the card game is aimed at children, there must be no references to "Adult" content and the like. A perfect example of renaming is This card: The English version of the card is called:"Helpoemer"Yet the Japanese name of the card is:"Hell Poet HellPoemer" Obviously, this is too "Adult" in Konami's Eyes, and was thus Censored to "Helpeomer" Not all censorships are to do with references to several things that may be considered "Adult" For example: The Japanese Version of Dark Magician is called: Black Magician. It was changed due to potential racial comments to simpily "Dark Magician" This also happened with Red Eyes B. Dragon. I can't list what Konami actually censors, but most references to "Adult" content are always censored. 2) Art Once again, Art is censored often. Things like Blood are taken out of english versions of cards, and some noticable changes between some cards. For example: English: Japanese:
