Bonds of Spirits: ATK and DEF

This is my first fanfic on here. This is a story set in a real world setting, and the spirit world (see YGO 5Ds) this story features many characters who have a bond with duel spirits. some would say "not another Yugioh fanfic" but this doesn't involve many card games (to be original). some of you YCMers can be featured too, just PM me the name of your character and the monster you want as your duel spirit (i'll decide if it's suitable).

~ 2000 years ago ~
It is a time of great turmoil. The citizens of Ancient Rome await the important announcement that is to be made by the King Alexanderos Irvine with baited breath, as they do not know what to expect. All other important announcements Alexanderos made in the past had ended up in disaster, and thus many people had threatened to kill him but all attempts fell on deaf ears and the threateners had be thrown into jail. Eventually as the bored citizens were about to leave, King Alexanderos Irvine emerged from the palace and was ready to make his announcement.

"Citizens of Rome, for years we have been plagued by these ancient creatures in stone tablets, but it stops here, i am starting a project to destroy all these stone tablets and eliminate the threat for good, who's with me!"

The crowd roared with excitement and wanted to get on with his plan as soon as possible, and so they decided to gather whatever weapons they can so they can start Project: Irvine.

Unfortunately that night Alexanderos was visited by a powerful spirit, he rubbed his eyes and even pinched himself to see if he was dreaming, he wasn't he could see the spirit. He tried convincing himself that the spirit wasn't there and telling it to go away you're not real, but the spirit shouted at him and he felt it's rage. The spirit was there because it wanted to stop Project: Irvine. Alexanderos argued with the spirit and told it, that the project is necessary to protect mankind, however the spirit warned Alexanderos that these incidents would happen in the future and that he couldn't stop, and so the Spirit decided to get Alexanderos out of the picture so he wouldn't ignore it later.

The next morning, the King's loyal servant went into the King's room to give him his breakfast, only to find him lying on the ground. The servent checked him for consciousness but he felt nothing, King Alexanderos Irvine was dead.

A couple of hours had passed, and the King's servant had gotten all the other servants of the late King to gather the citizens of the city to the town square. It was a long and difficult task as some of the citizens weren't easy to persuade after yesterdays announcment, other citizens were trying to get on with Project: Irvine but all who attempted to destroy the stone tablets were not able to move a minute later.

When all the citizens had gathered in the town square, they were discussing what could be so important that needed their full attention. As a figure emerged from the palace, when they were expecting the King, his loyal servant came out, everyone was baffled as to why the king would send one of his servants to give out an announcement so he decided to explain all.

"Citizens of Rome i have some sad news, our King Alexanderos Irvine had died mysteriously overnight, therefore i declare Project------"

As he announced King Alexanderos' death everone was celebrating, knowing that there was noone to tell them what to do. The citizens that wanted to break down the stone tablets done so without thinking of the consequences. The citizens that wanted to enjoy their lives just continued as if nothing ever happened, and then...

~ 2000 Years Later ~
In a town called Blackthorn, lives a games enthuiast by the name of Yuja Silver. He is an energetic kid who plays soccer for his local team and also many card games including the games of Yu-gi-oh and Solitaire.

One Morning he woke up rubbed his eyes and found a note from an anonymous sender requesting help. He checked the handwriting of the note with the handwriting of all of his friends. When he found out that there were no matches he thought long and hard to see where it came from, he even asked his mom to see where it came from and she had no idea either and told him to get ready for school.

Whilst he was getting ready for school he threw the note under his bedside light, it was then when he noticed something different about the note, it was treated like a mirror and reflected onto the wall, to which it said "take a trip to the spirit world" he then thought what's a spirit world and attempted to slap himself to see if he was dreaming when he found out he wasn't, he turned his bedside light off so that what he thought was madness would stop. Afterwards he took a nap to see if he would forget the note, unfortunately he wasn't able to, and before he knew it, he was outside the door headed for school...
