Blake
I have lost all hope for ZEXAL. I initially thought it was a good idea to have a duelist who wasn't a prodigy, but they instead made Yuma have the IQ of tapioca when it comes to dueling. Don't they realize how much they have alienated their original fanbase?!? The Pokemon reboot at least kept most of its old players because it allowed backwards compatibility, but the creators of Yu-Gi-Oh! have decided to screw the following they had and try to market it to people with mental disabilities!!!
We need a Whambulance. Give it time. 5D's did not seem to be anything beyond mediocre, and then it got great. That, and Yuma's a self saboteur, which is a literal thing. Psychological. He has to learn to work with his inner space tranny to save the world,
I think that's a bit of an extreme view. Presumably, Yuma will improve, but it won't be instantaneous. Part of his personality is he's rash and headstrong, but he does have pretty good enthusiasm. The problem is he's so unwilling to listen to advice that his blunders are just pathetic, and he's so enthusiastic to play an Exceed monster that he walked into a blatant trap. Really, he's an incompetent duelist, noobish even, but I don't think he's that bad as a character. We're only 5 episodes into the series. What bothers me is that there don't seem to be any other duelists in the main cast at the moment that aren't antagonists.

evilfusion
Considering how ignorant Kotori is of the rules, I think we can say she's not a duelist. That means 2 non-antagonistic duelists at this time. Yup, Yuma's going to get a lot of duel screen time. I'm half hoping that other protagonists or allies get their hands on No. monsters, and not just leave it up to Yuma to beat them himself. Also, Astral implied that if Yuma loses, he loses ALL the No. monsters he has. So I think multiple factions should be collecting multiples, rather than picking them off one by one. Premier Alexander Romanov
Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but why is everyone suddenly after Yuma's Numbers anyways? I mean, when did everyone and their grandmother learn about these cards? And what is the deal with Weevil Clonederwood?

evilfusion
From what I gathered, firstly it was rumored Yuma beat Shark. Kotori and Tetsuo confirmed this in front of the entire class. And I THINK Yuma in episode 5 was asked what card he used to beat Shark (Hope). This is the first time anyone wanted Yuma's No. monsters, but it's not the first time someone wanted recognition for dueling the one who beat Shark (the class president also mused that beating Yuma may make him stronger than Shark...yeah, that didn't prove much). Premier Alexander Romanov
Also, why did Weevil Clonederwood think his brilliant strategy of giving people a useless Exceed Monster would work?!? Who (besides Yuma) would honestly fall for that trap?!? Is the future really just that stupid, or- Oh. My. God. I figured it out! I know why the people in ZEXAL have regressed to using crappy cards! It all comes together! The stupidity of the characters! The automaton of the entire city! The awful pastel combinations! ZEXAL is Idiocracy!!! evilfusion
Yuma uses a deck of mainly level 3 and 4 monsters. Summoning Rank 3 and 4 Exceeds seems pretty simple. More of his monsters are level 4 (Gagaga, Gogogo, Goblinberge, Ganbara) than level 3 (Zubaba, Acha)
Boss Z
Isn't Zubaba Knight not Yuma's Signature Main Deck card?? and Magician is any level... so yes, it so is level 3 Smart***Magician's Art has a feeling of Yusei to me... Idk
Blake
No, it is not. The card is Level 4. It can change its level, but it itself is level 4. And Gagaga = Junk Synchron of ZeXal. Zubaba is not.
evilfusion
I have no idea what his signature card is. So far, he's used only a handful of monster cards: Zubaba Knight, Gagaga Magician, Gogogo Golem, Ganbara Knight, Achaacha Archer, Goblinberge and that level 2 monster he played in episode 5. Most of those are level 4.

Also, like with Jaden's personality deconstruction, the plot's hard to move if Yuma isn't getting most of the fight this time, or it'll take A LOT of episodes to get all of the Numbers cards. Premier Alexander Romanov
Well, let's do the math. So far, 6 out of 8 episodes are confirmed to have new Numbers, so that's a 75% chance of an episode having a new Number. Considering how each duel is two episodes, we have a rate of 3 Numbers every 8 episodes. We started with 4 in one set, then we will have 31 more sets of 8 to get to 97, so that's 248 episodes added on. Finally, we have the last two, which will be another 4-6 episodes. Add a 5-part finale, and we have 265-267 episodes in ZEXAL! Dayumn! These guys are ambitious!
evilfusion
That's why I assume multiple Numbers will be displayed in the future. I also wonder how many will actually be released. We'll have over 100 Exceed monsters...

So when Astral tried to give him advice during his duel with Ukyo, he explicitly said "I'm not listening to you. If you say do something, I'll go the other way! You said Summon this, I'll Summon the other one!" Astral just started telling him to do the dumber move, and he promptly went with the smarter one without even thinking about it, purely because Astral told him either not to do it, or told him to do the other move. This included Astral saying "Don't bother Setting your Trap card" and "Don't use Hope's effect" against a game-winning attack.
I think all that started when Astral started calling himトマ.
