Blake
So, after a year of depressing stories such as A Streetcar Named Desire, The Stranger, The Awakening, Death of a Salesman, and more, we had to read The Alchemist as the last bok this year. I went into it skeptical, wondering if I was going to see Homuculi, the Elixir of Life, and the Philosopher's Stone. I did see the latter two, and was please at the lack of homunculi. The book as a whole is easily one of my favorite texts ever, greatly passing my expectations. Caused me to reflect on life a lot, and gave me a bit of a new lease. Discuss. Yang Xiao-Long
The last time I read this book was for a 7th or 8th grade independent reading assignment. Back then, I hated reading, but when I picked up The Alchemist, I actually liked the story and overall initial impact of it. I think I'll read it again. Thanks for bringing up this topic, Zetsubou^^
