Beware of chainsaws....

My mom believes in them, she's taught me to say "Rabbit rabbit" as the first thing during a new month and supposedly that brings us good luck.
And she even scolded me once because I opened an umbrella indoors >.>
Oddly enough, she hasn't really enforced other superstitions, just those two.

Otherwise, some superstitions are fun to believe in, others I'm indifferent to.

I was discharged from the hospital on Friday, but I had to write an essay as soon as I got home.

Friday the 13ths usually go extremely well for me or just normal. Thus disproving any "bad luck" factor that people are retarded enough to believe.

Nothing bad ever happens to me on Friday the 13th. I actually should research why that superstition was created.

However, my family in general is very superstitious, so I have to deal with them like that all year round. And it's not like the normal black cat or walking under a ladder type of stuff, it's other cultural traditions from all over the world.

Jason is the killer in Friday the 13th (the movie).

This topic was made about Friday the 13th (the date).

Thus it is a reasonable assumption that the TC was referencing Jason specifically.

There is like, only one well known horror movie where the killer's iconic weapon is in fact a chainsaw. Things like knives are much more common.

This is "close enough" as mixing up North Korea and South Korea is "close enough" because they both have "Korea" in their names.

morons

Any reason for the plural? It seems that you were the first person (minus the TC, probably) in this thread to even think about, let alone bring up the point that the title was about a horror film. I payed no attention to that whatsoever and assumed the TC was making a stupid reference to some superstition about getting hit with a running chainsaw or some random crap.

There was no reason for you to act as if anybody in this thread other than the TC (and even that was on a blatant and not certified assumption) is a moron, unless you would like to refer to the TC and yourself as morons. Why don't you put some thought into your posts before you make baseless claims based on intuition?

reasonable assumption

No, it wasn't a reasonable assumption. Maybe the TC was trying to make a reference to the film, but it was a vague one at best and something that only you picked up on. Unless you actually thought about the title you would not have realized the correlation, yet that would be implying our intelligent TC over here also thought about the title. I'm not saying the title is surely not related to the film, but it was a blatant assumption. Who is to say that the title was not a reference to some superstition that chainsaws [...] or something to that effect?
