Set up a huge get together with rest of team, while at work via text. Get home, shower pick up the pizza and wait for them to show up. They show up late and its chill. we start playtesting all night(until like 7 am). Decide to run Karakuris with techs instead of Water Synchro. Crash on my couch and wake up 2 hours later. Eat, shower, head to locals. Saturday afternoon: Get to locals early, get no trades, but pull a Psychic Shockwave lol. Pay for entry and get ready for the tourny. Round 1: Ben(Karakuri) vs Tom?(Dragons) Game 1: He summons dodger dragon, and set a few back rows. I play Merchant, get Anatonmy and do some Karakuri tricks. Cant get over Dodger dragon though, but have a good next turn in hand. He does stuff and ends. I go into Blackrose and he negates with Veiler. try to swing, he Nightmare wheels me. I nearly get burned to death while I set up the OTK in hand. I win with 350 lifepoints Game 2: I go nutz and OTK him turn 3. My teammate Kefka loses to GKs that he helped the kid build, and my other two teammates win. Oh well. Round 2: Ben(Karakuri) vs CJ (QD plants) Game 1: He starts off with 2 set and a face down(debris dragon). I know this kid plays a lot of defensive traps, so I MST 1 of his back row, and its Lightning vortex O_o. I assume its safe and i flood the board. I put him down to 3300 i think. He flips his other facedown lightning vortex and tries to go to Tytannial but I Warning his Lonefire. I win next turn Game 2: I draw really bad but manage to pull out Blackrose to reset the board. then OTK him two turns later. Showdown Castle put in work. Teammates get paired up which sucks but Kefka gets it in and wins. Round 3: Ben(Karakuri) vs Chris ( GKs) Game 1: I know he is playing GK and I slow ball it making him waste cards, but he gets Spy + Descendant. I top deck Fiendish chain, and do some karakuri stuff to keep me in game. He tries to go for the kill but I fiendish chain the Descendant and able to stall out for the win. Game 2: He has a bunch of Special Summon and Synchro hate but I dont have anything to synchro with. I NoC his spy and Castle removes Necrovally all day. He cant get over merchant LOL My teammate loses to this kid we all hate and its like Alls well lol. Other teammates get the win as well. Round 4: Ben(Karakuri) vs Russ(Sams) Game 1: I lose the dice roll, and he goes off using Six Sams...until I drop 4 synchros because he misplayed and I get it the easy win. Game 2: He goes Beast + Barkion and sets 2. I try to come back but draw lose to drawing 1 monster. :/ Game 3: I get the nutz and play defensively. he's like, OMG I GOT THE NUTZ and nearly flips the table when my outs are better than his. I OTK him turn 2 for exactly 8000. He SOOOOO MAD. As I show him the monster reborn I draw off Anatomy, the whole local goes WILD and he scoops up. I stand up and my teammates crowd around me. He calls me a cheater and stack, then accuses the judge of Rigging the tournament when he finds out my team all top 8. LOL. Top 8: Ben (Karakuri) vs CJ(QDP) He left after round four thinking he wouldn't top Top 4: 4 way split Me and 2 teammates dont want to play and neither does Russ after barely winning the game against our 3rd teammate. He gets all pissy and doesn't want to play anymore seeing us "cheat our way into the top 4." Props: Going 4-0 after not playing a while FIENDISH CHAIN PUTTING IN WORK ALL 4 GAMES. Only losing 1 game Round 4, game 3. Fiendish Chain Karakuris Beast/Barkion locks. Slops: Beast/Barkion Locks Bad pulls Not many good players at locals. It was all good. More importantly, I wish my locals was more competitive. I usually get paired up against weaker players and top because of it. I'd like better players and better prize support.
