Expel Sword, that's a glitch in DN. Sometimes, the system lags so much that it doesn't show anything. It happens quite a bit.

If you're in rated, tell the opponent that, and make a draw offer to prevent rating loss for both players.

Apparently, there's a guy who is officially my favorite DN b*tch troll. Username is "black storm" and he always puts "no cheating" on his duel tags.

He quits whenever something goes wrong, does stuff during his Draw Phase (Meaning he thinks he can activate Standby Phase effects on the same turn he plays them) and he otherwise hates me.

I have a lot of fun proving him wrong.

I had a game today where my opponent was utterly ignorant of how targeting/cost/resolution works.

The card that seriously popped up like 5 times was Lyla.

He uses Reborn on my Lyla and declares priority. I chain Torrential. He insists that Lyla would still get its effect, while I tried to explain how Lyla doesn't switch to defense until resolution, and if it doesn't switch, it doesn't destroy. We argued this briefly before he cut his losses and Seven Tools-ed my Torrential instead.

Later, I Summoned Lyla and activated its effect, choosing my target, and paused, checking for response. He told me to switch it to defense and I pointed out Lyla switching is not a cost, and therefore doesn't occur until resolution, or determining whether a chain. He said that yes, it's not a cost, but to resolve, Lyla has to choose its target and switch to defense and THEN he gets a chain opportunity. I rolled my eyes, particularly since he didn't have a response so continuing the discussion was pointless.

Later, I used Lyla again, and once again, he told me to switch it to defense. This time I showed him the ruling that Lyla doesn't switch until resolution, but he brushed it off. He used Effect Veiler in response. Since he had Trishula out, I didn't bother arguing that Lyla would stay in ATK position if he Veilered it.

I used Lyla AGAIN later. This time, bluntly pointing out how the card works with "Lyla effect. Target card. Response? If not, it resolves and switches to defense". He had no response and did not commnet, while I was still bewildered how a guy with 1200 rating, decent rep, and obvious knowledge how to play has no idea when targeting takes place vs resolution. This is going to be something that the Problem-Solving Card Text is going to VASTLY help with.

Then came the worst part. The last move of the duel, I went through an unnecessarily large amount of effort with cards like Lyla, Trishula, Scrap Dragon, etc to hit some of his facedowns and test for Veiler. He had 7000 LP at the time.

I then dropped JD, nuked 3 times to rid the field of his cards and Tengus, ignoring the fact I lose some high investment cards, too.

Then I dropped Sephiron, bringing my cumulative field ATK to 7000. He ASSed.

I was not in Rated, but more pressingly, my name has no spaces :(

Better that you spaced it than read it as "Expels-word" though
