Maghion Syaoran Light
I woke up at around 7 am during a thunderstorm that mostly woke me up. I don't have a bed so I sleep on a air mattress on the floor. I was still a bit tired so I tried returning to sleep. I was laying there just about to doze off when something I can't explain happened. Out of nowhere, I panicked and jumped up, running across the apartment screaming on top of my lunges. I ended up on the kitchen floor. I was aware I was screaming, running, so it wasnt a sleepwalk. I don't know why I was, it just happened. I couldn't control myself until I was on the kitchen floor. It coincided with a large thunder boom, and I am not really sure if I freaked out over that because normally, I don't get scared over thunderstorms. This has never happened before. My mother came out after she heard my screams. She could not explained what just happened. When I calmed down and looked at the time, about an hour has elapsed. If it has been that long, then I am thinking I was half asleep and freaked out. I really think I just though I got struck by lighting and freaked out, I have no idea. What do you guys think? Βyakuya
Fear just took over your body and thoughts. It probably caused a scare enough to create confusion.
The body and mind are two different beings... While your mind remained unphased by the thunderstorm, your body was probably scared to death... VGVentus
Perhaps something else happened during the storm... ...Perhaps you responded to that instead of the thunderstrike?
Maghion Syaoran Light
No nothing else happened. Someone else explained that when we are asleep, our logic is temporary shut off, which is why we believe our dreams is real. I was just falling asleep when it happened. And it happened when lightning struck right outside our house, so I actually though i was struck with lightning, and I did not have time to logically process what just happened, instead survival instincts took over and I panicked. That explanation actually makes sense. Another explanation I got is that the lightning struck so close by my body had actually felt the electric current through the ground, causing me to panic. Those two are better explanation than my father's "Your possessed" explanation.
Expelsword
You were probably awoken by thunder and lightning. While sleeping, many of the senses are dulled, but hearing remains pretty sharp, to avoid dangerous situations in the wild. You were startled to action by your senses, but didn't know what to do, hence, panic.
The Borg
Aliens caused it. Lost Time. Large Booms. Derangedness. Yup, they did it.
And yet you say that the incident happened because lightning struck outside of your house when you were falling asleep.. b**** please, everybody is scared of thunderstorms. You're not afraid of thunderstorms until they're moderately close. Then you shall commence shitting your pants every time the lightning strikes. Tentacruel
You were probably half-asleep. You might have been conscious, but your subconscious was in control. It's happened to me before.
Inexplicable Madness
Wow. That's crazy... In my opinion, you were asleep at one point while you were "trying to go back to sleep" and you dreamed something that spooked you that coincided perfectly with the loud booming thunder. While "your senses were dulled" and "your body afraid," your brain snapped and instinct took control over your body and you panicked.
Chaos Dralcax
[s]That was no ordinary lightning. That was an energy-based alien life form with psychic abilities.[/s] Actually, it might just be a traumatic experience with lightning that you forgot but your body unconsciously "remembers" and the panic attack was like a reflex of some sort.
