markyguila
If you ever played Magic: The Gathering, you would know that sealed formats (where you build a deck out of a set assortment of cards, usually booster packs) are as popular as constructed formats (the normal build-a-deck of the cards you own). A "cube" is a sealed format where people draft cards from a predetermined assortment of around 600-800 cards. I am trying to create a cube for yugioh, and i was wondering if anyone has any tips or ideas on how i should make it, it would be greatly appreciated EDIT: My biggest problem right now is the monster/non-monster ratio. HaouJudai
Oh good to see the site is back up - Use Spores - popular common card - are you asking which card or do you need help with how to construct the cube? I'm only making a building material suggestion.
Mysty
Personally, I'd say build it without any support cards for types, Attributes, or archetypes. After all, if a person got really lucky with DARK support and tons of DARK monsters, they'll probably win no problem. Here are some suggestions for a cube, some of these can be combined: • common box: If someone steals commons, you don't care • junk box: just throw in all the worst cards you can find • broken box: have many multiple copies of generic broken cards in it and say the banlist doesn't apply. Just be sure not to get anything stolen from you. • type-specific/Attribute-specific box: include only one Type or attribute of monster and support for said type or attribute • "balanced card" box: a bunch of generic cards that are good, but the current meta is too broken for them to be used • resource management box: have all the cards (or at least the monsters) have negative abilities that backfire onto the user and/or negative card advantage... and no Skill Drain But it depends on what you want to do and what you want the draft games to be like. hexcalibrate
add some of the weaker synchros (X-Saber Urbellum) and the basic tuners, like dark resonator or hyper synchron. feild spells like gaia power or mystic plasma zone and maybe some of the old fashioned beat sticks like gilford the lightning
Dementuo
A few tutor cards, some generic support, and maybe type-specific support, but not too much in the way of Archtype-specific stuff.
darkwolf777
I'd suggest no archetype stuff, except those that could be ran outside of their own archetype (like Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind), and limit some things that aren't currently archetype specific that are incredibly good together (see various Synchro Spam decks).
