Main Problem with YU-GI-MON Players

Recommended Posts
Mostly TG, but it has happened with Dandy-Warrior, Solemn Warning (believe it or not ppl thought this was a bad card when we first found out about it) and some other stuff I'm to lazy/sleepy to remember.
T.G. were just not popular until Tengu came =/ It wasn't people changing their minds randomly. It was a fairly untested deck and little people were going to risk playing it at a Nationals. Now people know it's good.

Solemn Warning was broken since release =/ Everyone knows that.

Dandywarrior has generally been Tier 2 and lower in its lifetime so people changing their minds about that wouldn't matter in any case.

I do agree that it's basically 'following the herd', and not taking your own view on things, but those are such bad examples. Also, the good players don't do it as often.

They came out at the same time, no?

T.G. is f***ing amazing, even before nats :/

Yes, but T.G. were still known before :P Tengu, being TCG exclusive, was revealed like a month later.

It obviously was, but no-one knew. Nationals just showed everyone that didn't already know that T.G. were amazing like hell.

If you want Warnings, buy a DREV SE. Everybody on YCM seems to pull and ultra copy when they buy one.

I got a scrap dragon in mine.
And then I traded it away.
When it was $20.
****.

There's no surprise here. They break the format every year before our Nats by dangling a golden apple above our heads that we simple cannot live without and like a junkie giving a free hit they get us addicted to some cheap power card that we can't use at Worlds. Then we go to worlds and lose because they've been practicing for months without priority and reborn tengu while it's been a way of life for us.

You can't hate the metagame for being what it is. If you want to hate something - hate the rampant stealing that's condoned from the top levels of konami digital entertainment in the name of a black ink bottom line. Another topic though and not one I really want to battle over - Nats was very peaceful and a lot of fun this year - leaps and bounds above 2010.

Let's come back to this after they don't hit Tengu on the list and the TCG adamantly continues to push that card as the second coming of Yugioh!.

What I really want to see is something like Crystal Beasts top and then everybody start using CB's and calling them meta.

Then the meme will finally make sense.

I feel. . . somewhat. . . insulted, but at least I don't run meta, and I always believed that Offering/Gadgets was a good combo, even before Xyz Monsters. Quick Tribute Fodder with Cannon cards.

The only person I can remember not liking DandyWarrior was Pika...besides, it went in and out of style pretty quickly, as it was absorbed back into Plant Synchro.

I remember the original Solemn Warning topic. It's true most people didn't hold in as high regard as they do now, and it was considered more of a tech than a staple, but competent people did not think it was bad. It was more of a question of how many copies it made sense to run.

Tier 1 Tech Genus plays in the opposite way Tech Genus were designed to be played. All T.G.s besides Jet Falcon and Rush Rhino have an effect to Special Summon...that's a lot. T.G. Control makes as much sense as Gravekeeper Synchro, or Alien Beatdown. It took a lot of testing to find out if you play T.G.s like Heroes they're godly.
