Stan Alda Posted July 27, 2011 Report Share Posted July 27, 2011 Earlier this year, I made a very small set based around summoning a nuclear missile in a method similar to "Great Moth" and rendering up to 3 Monster Zones useless. It worked well enough, but I had bigger plans. I intended this missile to initiate a "nuclear winter" that would allow the players to summon radioactive mutant versions of various classic monsters. I finally got to working on it about a week ago. Originally, I was going to use wimps like "Celtic Guardian" and "Takriminos", but after the slamming of my (in retrospect) UP'd "Hot-Rolling Mill", I'm turning up the heat with monsters in the 2000-odd ATK/DEF range, all Vanillas...till now, that is. First, we need to get the missile going. (And yes, I've gotten flak for using spoilers, but I think it streamlines the post and makes it easier to read. So there.) I made another Union monster for the ICBM--"Neutron Warhead". Instead of the ICBM automatically activating "Endless Nuclear Winter", it will only activate ENW when it is equipped with this card. The idea was to set up a few separate strategies for this set--either use a straight, single-zone attack (no union), knock out 3 monster zones (MIRV Upgrade), or set up the Endless Nuclear Winter/Radioactive Mutant strategy (Neutron Warhead).
