The only real reason that the card was made is so that Jack Atlas had a way to defeat Yusei Fudo's immensely over-equipped "Lightning Warrior". [/quote] No. The fact that it requires Fiends balances it. And anyway, all good players run some effect destruction cards. Plus some decks don't even use synchros. I asked how he stalled long enough to get 2 Necromancers on the field, yet in all that time never dumped a single Infernity Archfiend into the graveyard, despite that being the entire point to the deck. I know you were thinking Archfiend General, but when you're going to that extreme to summon a monster that locks down your own OTK even at 2800 atk I couldn't see this going well for you. For that matter, if your running general, your probably running the Exceed version of the deck, in which case your more cramped for space and you can get a monster out without using your avenger.
