So my parents wouldn't let me go on the computer yesterday because I rode my bike a few blocks with my helmet unstrapped

If you're smart enough, you can convince your parents that nothing you do is worth punishment.

Work on that.

Problem is, I think of good arguements. It just takes me a while, and I suck at actually delivering them.

@Horus:Well, you know, see spoiler in sig...kinda, I guess...

*Points to irony thread*

Read my post. There is no way your helmet would stay on if something like THAT happened to you.

OT: I lost the ability to do free internet searches for years, because when I was young, I looked at porn.

I was young. What can I say? ._.

Dude, you're 14. It's not unnatural if you did look at it.

OT: I was grounded for 4 months for not wanting to be friends with the daughter of my parents' friends. Of course, I DID express it in a kind of rude way. But 4 months, wow. O_O

One time, my friend got in trouble in class for saying "f*ck" and the teacher made him call his parents, and his dad said "I don't give a f*ck. My son is 15, he can say whatever the f*ck he wants." Yeah... my friends parents are the coolest.

Good for him.

Also, I once ate two really big chocolate bars without asking (this was a few years ago). I said I hadn't. My little sisters actually thought a guy had snuck into our house and eaten then. It was lulzy, even though i was grounded for a week.

My parents often turn off the modem when they're in a bad mood. While my step-father normally does it for valid reasons, my mother just does it whenever she wants to take her anger out on someone (which is a lot). She's naturally a spiteful person, but she normally hides it in very obvious places so retrieving it is an easy business. I have a politician's tongue, so I used to get away with a lot of things when I was younger. My parents realized the best way of stopping me from convincing them to not punish me was to not let me speak to them when the punishment was being dished out. Rather Orwellian in nature; ironic considering the fact that both are semi-socialist lefties with a lot of emphasis on personal freedom.

Same here. But when I do get to talk, if I can't get out of punishment, I can usually bring down the person who got me in trouble in the first place with me.

A few years ago I got grounded for a month for telling my sister the tooth fairy didn't exist... After she already figured it out...

My brother got the same thing for telling her Santa didn't exist, but neither me nor my sister were willing to believe that.

COMPLETELY same. I'm never able to get out of even the most ridiculous trouble given how hard-headed and ridiculous both my my parents are, but I'm usually able to piss them off enough to satisfy myself.

The only reason I've gotten in trouble at all the past year or so is because my sister is an aggravating b****. She's always as much at fault as I am so my (successful) logic is that my parents punish both of us or none of us.

My sister - technology = hilarious.
Me, I just read a book.
