Larxene
[quote name='Dт. Except for me it's a rare occurrence these days. Constant misery really, but oh well. Why be optimistic and wind up disappointed when the things you expect don't happen, when you can be pessimistic and not care as much when bad things DO happen? That way you expect the bad things to happen and you deal with them without as much drama, and you can enjoy the good things more on the off chance they do come along. CrystalCyae
Look up pessimistic in a pictured dictionary. You find a portrait of me. Done.
Greiga
I'm optomistic around my friends, because I feel it's my job to lift their spirits when they're feeling down, and plus that's pretty much the portrait I've painted myself for them and I'm stuck with it. When I'm by myself, and my closer friends know I'm like this, I am the most pessimistic person you've ever known.
---------------
The difference between an Optimist and a Pessimist has nothing to do with positivity and negativity (well, it does, but not in the traditional "I'm positive, I'm negative" sense). Optimists like to hope that (naively or otherwise) whatever's happening isn't as bad as it seems. Pessimists, on the other hand face the world as it is, and know how bad it can get. Personally, I'm a Poptimist.

I'm a poptimist and a hippipomori.:3 But seriously, I can be pretty negative and severe when it comes to myself (aka some kind of perfectionism), but overall, I'm a huge optimist.:S (There don't seem to be that many left, right?) But that's only when you decide to limit people on these 2 categories. It's not that easy actually and being an optimist doesn't mean seeing the world all pink bubbles and unicorns, but it can also mean making the best out of something and trying to see the good sides even when things don't go well.
