Admiral Tim
I won't say that people like her weren't part of the reason I left... Humans should evolve so that we can grow tails. :3
Why? It completely defies the reasons of evolution. We traded in tails for toes. Having a tail just means eating more to support a part we don't need. It is very inefficient.

Grunt Issun
Exactly. Because we've evolved and gained sentience, and become smarter, we've been able to develop things that cover our weaknesses.

D.A._Sakuyamon
Well.........we could always evolve along the mechanical/cybernetic path. I'm more pro for this then any other evolution path. Mainly because this is IMO because the fastest one we can reach. Basically we evolve to the point where are bodys can fully live off of machines but still be organic to an extent. Now leg wise, we have that not down pat but were getting there. And there are brain chip like thingys already being made for the severally handy capped (those that cannot move there body) that lets them control a mouse with just there mind. Hydra of Ages
Modern human evolution and the evolution evident in the rest of living organisms really can't be compared all too closely. Humanity has reached the point where negative genetic traits are no longer necessarily complicating factors in reproduction, so removing them from the gene pool is a far more exhaustive and time-consuming natural process. While there are very minor shifts in the global genome over long periods of time, they're so small that they count for very little. Assuming humanity progresses on the general path it's been going on so far, we'll end up artificially manipulating our genes long before we see any actual result from nature doing it for us. Meaning if we want those damn scorpion tails, we better get some scientists working on that STAT.

We have reached a stage in our development, technological and sociological development, were we can address the environmental factors that would otherwise influence evolution before they have had enough time to do so. Crudely, you could say evolution is a result of either natural selection for traits and mutations due to environmental (outside) influences. Since we make just about everything to make our lives easier, safer and more convenient, humanity has more or less separated itself from a natural environment. The normal methods and mechanics of evolution don't work for us anymore.

Admiral Tim
We have evolved so our brains can counter and overcome many things in nature. Jets > Birds (Can't fly that fast now can you?) Racecar > Cheetah (Fastest land animal isn't faster than this.) Submarine > Anglerfish (We got armor beat that fish.) Tank > Elephant (Can't push this around) Gun > Scorpions (No poison but a lot faster.) Ships > Sharks (Take a bite outta this fishies.) Nuke > About any animal (BOOM! to bad it can't kill cockroaches) Thermal Nuclear bomb > Nuke (Way powerful but needs a Nuclear explosion to activate it.) Jolta
Tim seems to have a slight point. Animals may evolve to in turn counter technology. And then, we go down on the food chain. Unless we further improve technology. I definitely don't wanna see Sonic Scorpions or Spitfire Birds. Also, sharks can bite ships, they'll just do it better in the years to come.
