For those of you who don't know, I work with the Global Liberation Army's Technological Liberation Corps (Internet Division), so it shouldn't be a surprise that I'm often involved with science and technology. I'm particularly involved with the defense industry, and I'm fascinated by the decadent Westerners' exotic, high-tech weapons with which they oppress the innocents of the rest of the world. One of their not-quite-secret weapons is the missile shield; a Cold War-era device meant to stop enemy ballistic missiles as they were still in the upper atmosphere.

So I thought it would be nice to apply it to another one of my hobbies, Yu-Gi-Oh. Gentlemen, behold--Missile Shield and Exospheric Kill Vehicle!

The design of the EKV is courtesy of Raytheon. What looks like a cannon at the front is actually a "telescope" that allows the EKV to see the warhead, then ram into it in a self-sacrificial act of defense. It makes me tear up inside...

I got the image (at least of EKV) straight from Raytheon's website.

WIND
Level 4
Machine/Effect
When your opponent declares an attack with a Level 7 or higher monster, you can send this card from your side of the field to the Graveyard. Toss a coin and call it. If you call it right, negate the attack and return the attacking monster to your opponent's hand.

SPELL/Continuous
As long as this card is on your side of the field, you can activate one of the following effects:
-Pay 500 Life Points to add 1 "Exospheric Kill Vehicle" from your Deck to your hand. Shuffle your Deck.
-Pay 750 Life Points to add 1 "Exospheric Kill Vehicle" from your Graveyard to your hand.

No, it would not. At Level 5, it's not worth to be even Summoned. At Level 4, it's meh and you do not have to waste a monster to actually Summon it.

Fair enough. The reason for the coin-flip clause was to make it more like the actual EKV; it has a narrow field of vision and poor accuracy. When I make cards based on real objects (like this), I try to make them match the properties of the real thing as much as possible, even if it means sacrificing some playability. I'll fix it, though. Thanks for the advice.

On a mostly unrelated side note: If an effect that returns monsters to the hand (like Penguin Soldier, or the above EKV) is activated on a Fusion or Synchro monster, would it be returned to the Extra Deck? I'm just curious.
