If you checked my play-by-play, you would notice I played Gold Sarcophagus the same turn that I set Waboku, to which the latter gives me a "free turn". As soon as my opponent played his Tengu, I expected him to have a Plant Synchro or some other Synchro deck. I didn't expect to lucksack the Grinder Golem on my next turn and I figured "What the heck? He most likely doesn't have Effect Veiler and he has no backrow cards either". So I commited to it and it worked. But the real surprise was the fact that it wasn't a Synchro deck, but Gallis instead. I just had to screencap it.

Still, he had no clear cut way to OTK with you just tengu. had he started to combo off, then you could have played Waboku to "stop" him from going off. You had no reason to believe that if you played waboku, that you'd be able win on your next turn, unless you topped the nutz.

You see, with an Inferno Tempest deck, you want to have your Life Points above 3000. Playing the Waboku was just a formality. I don't want to take any more damage than I have to, especially if my opponent is going to start spamming monsters. Then when my opponent played Tengu, I was like "Oh s***, here comes an assload of Synchros." But the Synchros didn't come, so I was kind of surprised that he didn't have anything else.

And even if I didn't top the nuts, I still would have grabbed it out of the Sarc after two turns.

And without still having that waboku, what's saying you'd last 2 turns?

Im not saying that playing the Waboku was a bad play, I just believe that you played it too early. You'd still be at 6300 after a tengu swing, and if they started to summon like crazy, you can just always use Waboku then. If you saved the Waboku(assuming they didnt go crazy) you have it for the next turn to be able to survive and able to OTK them with Grinder golem off Sarc.

Yeah. But this necessarily isn't an OTK. It's more or less a Deck-Out deck.
