Ok, so this is my first set of ycm cards. I want to submit my new archetype "figment" cards in the halloween contest(or the next one if i miss the deadline) but I just dont know if they are any good. I'll put artwork in later; right now i'm just worried about the concept. First, it's completely ironic that you have a set called "Figment" and there are no images yet. That's just hilarious.

Anyway, i'll move in to the cards.

Amp Cannoneer
Interesting card. You allow Quick-Play spells to get through, so hurray for shrink! And you negate your own monster effects, too, if they share a column with your monster's attack target. Interesting. I see ways to use this, i think, to negate every effect you can think of. I think you mean for to end at the end of the Damage Step, but perhaps you mean until the end of the Battle Phase. I can't be certain, so i'll go with what would make more sense: the end of the Damage Step. It's kinda like a more powerful Infernity Beast. In every way.

Figment Databrain
Fusion monsters don't have dual types. It can either be Psychic or a Machine, not both. However, you can give it an effect to treat it as the other one, though. But you didn't do so, it's a 'Normal' Fusion Monster. It has no effect... And so it's sole power is in DEF stats. It's got 3000... I'm not sure of anyone who will fusion summon just for a barrier, what with the Brios, Trishes, Cauises, Chaos Sorcs, BLS, and just about any other monsters around. I'm not liking him...

Figment Dragon
Interesting effect... It's like Barrel Dragon. Though it's a little easier to use.. I'm not sure how to rate this one.

Figment Drake
That's not how you write out the Gemini mechanic, but i will give you the benefit of the doubt. It's too powerful, even for a gemini. It starts out at a level 4 with 1950 ATK. That's nearly unheard of in Gemini's. You've got Neos Alius, but all he does is change name. So...
And when he does get is effect you can negate a summon each turn? Once, i know, but each turn? For no cost? That's a free Solemn Warning with no life point cost, a free Inverz Roach with no detach or level limitation, all focused on what's NOT a dragon. That's easy to fulfill. Just summon this guy, attack, kill off their front line, gemini summon, they have a summon lock until they get Dark Hole. Too powerful.

Figment Eurikon
Draw until you have 4 cards? Combine this with the inability to summon up in the above paragraph and you can just breeze through your deck like a pro, with little effort. Sure it may backfire. But anyone can get around that limitation... Too powerful.

Figment Factory
The tokens can still be used for any Synchro Summon, though. =]
It's a bit underpowered, but it could generate some advantage. The effect of giving 800 DEF is a little high, since the only condition to do so is for it being in the Graveyard. I'd lower that, it's a bit too unnecessarily high.

Figment Imaginary Friend
{you posted this one three times, for your information. =]}
A bit simple, a bit powerful, a bit annoying.. It's okay, though. =] Average effect.

Figment Pliesion Aqua
I'm not sure where you derived your name for this one, but power to ya.
It's a level 8 ritual with 3700 ATK. I suppose that's almost okay. I'd lower it to 3400, just to be legit. How many monsters do you know that are level 8 with over 3200 ATK? Not many. Even in rituals. You'd need a Ritual card for him, too, which isn't present...

Figment Shogun
The effect for this one is far surpassed by Amp Cannoneer.

Figment Vanguard
The monster required for his summon doesn't currently exist... =/
Also, he has an alright effect. He's pretty balanced. He can't be destroyed by effects, that's pretty nifty. This monster also shares the dual type problem. He can be a warrior or a fairy, both. But you can give him an effect to treat him as the one you didn't pick.

Grand Figment Shogun
His effect is far surpassed by Heavy Storm. Why would you leave any behind after you look at it? I'm not sure of any you'd be thinking, "Sure, i'll let him keep that one face down there..."
And you have to Tribute to get him out there. And he's got 1600 ATK. He'd die.. easily. You could bump up his stats to 2000 and still be alright in that regard. But his effect of letting you see the spell/traps isn't too powerful. It's kinda funny, actually. I'd like that.
But the 'any destruction' effect is too powerful.

My idea to fix his effect is this:
Grand Figment Shogun
WIND/Warrior - Effect/6/2200/1600
When this card is Normal Summoned: Have your opponent reveal all face-down cards they control (Flip-effects are not activated at this time). You can then destroy 1 of those revealed cards.

That's balanced no matter what. You see the entire field, maybe, but can't get rid of it alone. You can destroy a Ryko for free, destroy a Mirror Force or D-Prison. It's nifty. I like it the way i built it, but i'm biased of course.

As of right now, i'd rate this a 4/10. Most of the cards aren't very well made, there is no continuity of a 'set' except they are all pictureless, and several are overpowered.

But this doesn't mean to give up! You can only get good if you keep at it. =] Just think of a central theme and work with it, not a central name. =D

thanks kale! Brutal, but honest. As I said Ive got a cruddy computer and this was my first ever set of cards. I also can't beleive I forgot figment paladin and the support cards. My friend dared me to dual with a bunch of custom cards, so they're kinda spread out and random. But I did make a handful of support cards that ill post soon.

I'm sorry if i came off as brutal. I have a mental obligation to not be brutal if i can avoid it, since that's what happened to me when i gave all the effort i could back in 2007. But, like a phoenix, i rose from the ashes of my pain and anguish and became a pretty decent card maker.

I think my problem was that i was too concise on yours. There was just so many cards, it was hard to write a paragraph for each! =/

I will do my best to look at the support once they are posted, though i can't make any promises. =] I'm notorious around here for promising something and then having real life get in the way.

But, if it so happens that your post and my presence occur at the same time here on the forum, i will delightfully look it over.

And, for a first set of cards, they aren't too bad. =]

Pretty generic support. =] It's all just 'okay....'
Gaining life is fine.
Negating a destruction is fine.
The Paladin is kinda meh unless you're facing a dark deck.
Figment Wasp is solid. A spirit many people would run, i bet.

That's just my gut reaction to those cards, though. =]

5/10 for all the cards, not just the recent 5.

i havent realy seen many gemini/spirit monsters... so I probaby did op/up/just plain mess them up

plus the drack doesnt effect normal summons

the reason I made grand shogun let you pick the cards he destroys is that there are these cards that have cropped up that activate WHEN YOU DESTROY THEM not the worst investment. :D

[right]lets see... I under-powered databrain because all you need to fuse are the factory and 2 tokens... i gave factory box the defense booster to make the opponent second guess killing it but if it is also up'd... I hadnt thought of that. Thks! and I will try to get pics on them sometime tommorow[/right]

First of all: Please, please work on your grammar and orthography.
Second: Your cards are absolutely inconsistent and sometimes literally unplayable. There is no Figment Factory (Figment Databrain).
Third: Dual-Typing (Psychic/Machine, Warrior/Fairy), no type, overly complicated lore (ex. Figment Drake) or plain broken effects (ex. Grand Shogun (at least that's what it seems to me))
Lots of room for development, but keep working on it.

ok. I cant get anything to edit. every time i give it a code it spits out the same monster over and over.

yes! These are images I scrounged up, some awesome(eurikon) some not. (imaginary friend) But its all I could find on the net.
FACTORY: once per turn, during your standby phase special summon 1 figment token (500ATK 500DEF machine. These tokens cannot be tributed except for tribute/fusion/ritual summoning of a figment monster. When this card is in your graveyard all figment monsters gain 500DEF

DRAKE:This card is treated as a normal monster while face-up on the field or in the graveyard. While this card is face up on the field, you can normal summon it to have it become an effect monster with this effect: once per turn you can negate the special summoning of a non-dragon monster, then destroy the card.

Figment Databrain you should give an effect for

Figment Wasp, since it's a spirit monster, you forgot to say it can't be special summoned

Plieson Aqua should also have an effect

Shogun's effect is almost the same as Ancient Gear Engineer, where during the battle phase your opponent can't activate spell/trap effects

Eurikon's draw effect to 4 cards is way too OPed, needs drawbacks

and write out the lores for Factory and Drake, too small to read

I copied shoguns ability because its a good one; and as noted before, My friend wanted to face a custom deck. It was kind of a loophole

I got pretty much all of the pics by doing alot of searches and then cherrypicked the ones that fit the best
