Sadness. Being sad sucks. I don't get sad or depressed often, but it's always a terrible feeling. I find sadness a waste of time and it serves no purpose.

I should get rid of anger, because my temper is really scary. I'm not a strong guy, but adrenaline has powers.

Tbh, I kinda like being mad. It's really f***ed up, but the adrenaline rush is like no other.

....

And no one here thinks of me the same way they did before.

Oops I forgot, sorry *hides behind a bush olol*
Edited the post a bit so it doesn't sound super useless. ;)

On second thought, if I could at least diminish an emotion (not erasing because I don't like the concept, yep), it would be anger. But not because it's entirely a negative thing (it isn't), it can be a driving force and without anger, people can become self-satisfied/satisfied with everything. But I can be quite angry (only rarely but when it happens, bring it on!) so personally, I'd say that. Not globally though.

As for sadness, it doesn't serve a purpose (most emotions don't) and it's terrible for most people, but I think it gives your life some...substance. Some things are just sad and it's good that people recognize it... I'm going to be worried the day people don't feel sadness anymore.

But that would only be personal, I wouldn't want to erase an emotion from the whole world.:S

Me either, the only reason I said it was for the topic's sake. I'm sure you understand. ;D

Love.

What a waste of time.

so by your logic
the emotion that causes reproduction is pointless?

what

Anger, for sure. I get so pissed off I could tear someone's arm off. Especially then when my parents get back and annoy the f*** out of me by asking me stupid questions

Fear. Who needs it?

Let's all hang ourselves. I'm not afraid!

I'm not good with words, this gets worse when expressing myself in a foreign language (...that I learned playing Pokemon and reading translated manga).
Furthermore, I was careless and thought of something really childish and simplistic that can't probably be achieved with the removal of emotions alone.
...
Yasu just wants to observe a world in which everyone cares about each other and doesn't mind orienting their actions towards more general -but almost equally satisfying- goals.
(>= w=)>

I'm aware of the fact that we somehow manage to screw up everything in the end.
...
I'm curious about the "somehow" part.

Interesting... Then erase all emotions but kindness?

Also most of you say boredom is bad. Think of this. If we had no boredom that means we would be Ok with doing nothing. Those already lazy would become lethargic and literally do the bare minimum and only do enough to stay alive. It would feel just fine to sit at home and do nothing. We can think to a higher extant because of boredom. If you finished an easy puzzle multiple times boredom kicks in and wants you to try something harder. If you don't have boredom you don't feel the necessity to challenge yourself in really, anything. You'd be happy to suck at school, sports, jobs, life. Just enough to keep you alive. So yes, boredom is essential to keep challenging yourself to become better and better.

Love. I'm not sure but I think it is a variation of your reproductive urges. That is to say a lower branch of Reproduction. Love gets you started but it doesn't help you reproduce. It will tell you if someone is pretty or not but all other actions are traced back to RU (Reproductive Urges). Simply stating love will not help you increase and further the human species. RU itself is not an emotion. It is a drive or urge or reaction. Comparable to your flight-or-flight reaction. This can also branch off into emotions such as anger or fear. So Love does not directly help you produce and add to the population however, without love we would be like insects, frogs, birds, and many other animals that show no affection just mate mindlessly.

I find frustration to be the best option for this discussion.

It's about the only one I can really think of that's never been of any help to me at all.

Can help you achieve determination

After some thought, I think the one I'd get rid of is frustration.

Getting rid of love, though? Come on now. Sure, it might be hard to find, but when you do find it it is quite wonderful... though, I will say that losing love has to be one of the most painful mental experiences one can go through, and some might want to avoid that altogether, but it will happen. People just have to get their act together and stop being so god damn cynical... acting like that all the time won't find you it.

Frustration. It helps you know when to stop and take a break. Spurs boredom and lets you know when to try something knew. It is good.

Well, more realistic situation: Let's all try to tame a wild dog! Common sense is derived from fear.
Actually I would think it's the other way around. Fear is derived from common sense. Even if I don't fear taming a wild dog that doesn't mean that i'm going to.
