The Best Game You Ever Played [Not Video Games/Games Held Outside]

I was looking through some old pictures and found a lot of me and my friends from school doing stuff we did best, fooling around. Then I started to remember some of the things we did and pranks we pulled during Halloween and such.

I just wanted to see what crazy thing other people do on their downtime. It might sound fun or really interesting.

The weirdest game me and almost half my school played (In my High School everyone practically knew everyone from freshman to senior) was a scavenger hunt. It wasn't no find the needle in the hay sack, it was extremely hard and rigorous things we had to do. First we would break into teams. There were an even number of us so that was easy to do. There were 6 teams of 3 people. We all had a leader and the leader's last name would be the team name. We would all pitch in to buy something really expensive, but enough for the team members to share. We would buy stuff like jewelry, MP3 players and such. Then we would get our favorite English teacher (Mr. Sembello) to hide it some where in Center City. He was our favorite because his class was easy and he was always willing to do this for his students. He saw it as some learning activity or something. After he hid it he would leave clues and riddles around the area. We had to figure out and solve the riddles to get to the prize. He had friends that owned a lot of shoppes in Center City. They all were in on it as well. The riddles were extremely hard and some of them even had us going on rooftops. That wasn't too bad since we're athletic and some of them weren't too high from the ground. We would be searching for hours joking around and having fun looking. Of course my team never won, but it was great in the end. We only did this once a month though witch was pretty dull. But I digress, it was worth the wait.

Lol I was hoping to see if you guys had done something like that. Stuff like that really gets me intrigued.

Being Irish-English we didn't play scavenger hunt. We played 'take-down manhunt'. The game is essentially a glorified version of tag. You split up into two teams of 3 or 6. One of the two teams will guard the 'base'. Once all members who are chasing base touch base they are all safe and it means they have won. Once a 10-15 minute time limit has passed and only some of the opposing team has touched base the people guarding base have won.

How do you stop them from reaching base? You rugby tackle your opponent into the ground and pin them on the ground for 3 seconds, while pinning them for the three seconds you have to say "1, 2, 3, manhunt" or else the pin doesn't count and in this window of opportunity the base chasers can force their way up and run away.

Where I grew up if you weren't athletic and willing to take a hit you wouldn't survive very long. ^_^

Hmm that's hard, because I don't play a large amount of games outside of video games. I did love playing Sorry, Fustration and Cluedo. As well as a game my step gran introduced me to, the flour cake game, think jenga, but with flour. (and horizontal not vertical.)

We called it Bulldog. 1 chaser, 2 safe zones, chaser has to take down people running inbetween the safe zones. People that get caught become a chaser. Carry on until everyone is caught. It starts getting fun when there's like 5 or so chasers, it can be quite challenging.

When there's a large group of people playing it can get quite rough, like when there's a large group of chasers (say 5+ chasers) who all just smash into one person.

La Migra anyone?

A game played at night-time, generally in California. It's basically hide and seek with cars. One group is the immigrants and another group is the border patrol. The immigrants get a few minutes to run and hide the best they can. The border patrol group gets into cars and tries to find them. When you find someone, someone has to get out of the car and chase them down. The more people, the more fun it is.

In our city, you have to start from this park and try to get to this street while hiding from the border patrol. And I don't think we usually play at nighttime.

To be honest, I've never played it since I've heard crazy things happens. 0_0
