The Amazing Avian
Yeah, picked up the entire Holmes collection, 4 novels and 56 short stories. Freaking addicted to it. Discuss the world's greatest detective (inb4Batman) as he was originally meant to be seen. Though I admit Downey portrayed him very well in the movie. Shradow
I have yet to read the books, but I know they're good. Do the movies follow any of the books?
The Amazing Avian
Not really. There are a whole bunch of short stories and the movie doesn't cover any of them. I have yet to read Study in Scarlet, so maybe it follows that. Apparently, the second one loosely follows The Final Problem.
Legend Zero
The books are amazing, from what I remember. I should read them again.
Mr.Robot
The books are amazing. My favorite would be The Final Problem. As for Guy Richie's movies no, their just based loosely on the books. The first one is based on several books and also the young sherlock adventure tv series while the second was based on The Final Problem. Also, do check out the bbc's tv series. Their as good as the Guy's movies but was update to a modern day setting.
Kirun Wolf
To be perfectly honest, many people don't know that:
Sherlock Holmes dies. Moriarty and he get into the fight seen at the end of the second movie, and they both are meant to perish at the bottom of the waterfall. Technically, it is not known if Moriarty dies, but Holmes was supposed to have. Moriarty was "infinitely more devious." He was Holmes match, and was supposed to beat him. The outcry from fans that Doyle received caused him to bring the detective back from the dead to write more adventures. Moriarty never reappears, but he is never confirmed as deceased.
I love Holmes. The books, the movies... they are both particularly entertaining to me. Shradow
Even if he was supposed to die, seeing the oxygen thing and then having Holmes come out of the chair in the 2nd movie was so freaking hilarious.

The Amazing Avian
If that is true, I'd like to see that. Arsene is the greatest thief ever and hes taking on the greatest detective ever. I'd definitely like to see that.
