Didn't they learn the first time they tried to kill the internet? Never f*** with us! Shouldn't they be pouring their money into stopping terrorism and not into killing the internet? Stop cyber attacks? B**** please, the internet can handle itself.

That's the thing. They aren't trying to kill the internet, they're trying to protect people on the internet. They're just having a hard time figuring out how to do so without killing the internet, and seem to be intent on pulling through with this.

Then why don't they make a bunch of smaller bills with all the good stuff instead of making one big bill with some vague wording that can potentially kill the internet?

How so? The only thing that could possibly come from this is large businesses benefiting from complete control over creativity.

Because making a bunch of small bills that do the same thing as the big bill isn't any different.

As I explained, they're having problems seeing what's wrong with the bill. I haven't seen the new stuff yet so I won't comment on it, but SOPA would do exactly what they wanted, but they don't realize that it does much more that would hurt people more than help. I'm not gonna try to get into their mindset but I actually do trust that in their minds they are TRYING to do something good, they're just hitting a f*ckton of roadblocks due to the nature of the bill.
