Nationalism

I'd much rather have "conceptism". I could hate the US one day and like it the next depending on what it as a whole was doing, so why embrace a concept that only inspires ignorance and blind-support when concepts as a whole are far less susceptible to change and your view will likely change depending on how you change as a person, while it's harder to monitor where the source of change is truly coming from when your love is given to a fluid idea?

I see where you are coming. If you liked the president or what America was supporting at the point, you could say you liked America. But if, suddenly, we changed government, presidency, and support of certain ideas, you could say you hate America.

But Nationalism can also be to what originally was used. Like with Italy and Germany in the 1800s, they wanted a complete country, not broken up states governing themselves. They felt pride in the whole, not in the piece.

Oh wait I thought this topic was about Nationalism. As it turns out this topic seems to be about America. Oh wait this topic is about Nationalism which according to the YCM logic automatically makes this topic about America because apparently America is the only country with insane Nationalism! OH MY GOD!

You heard me damn right Britain...

Nobody said that America is the only country with insane nationalism. Has it occurred to you that the people who posted on this thread are probably all from the US?

They can still show support for their home country if the dont live there anymore.

Again supporting their home country is fine I don't have a problem with that. I am just a little agitated at the stereotyping and it is not just here as it has happened before.
