jacky0731
Hi all, I've been going through all the Aqua-type monster cards lately and found that they are extremely weak and doesnt even fall into any kind of 'theme' or playstyle. So after some hard thinking i came up with this set of card ideas which mainly focuses on making these new Aqua type cards become "Equip support" Cards, much like union Monsters. Afterall, water sticks to things and provide us with life and support! Well heres my ideas below but due to my inability to find any suitable good looking pics for them, i'm just gonna post the txt When i get some cool pics in the future I will hopefully post a full set with fully made Cards! AQUA SET: THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE FIELD SPELLs ///////// The Fountain of Eden Field Spell Card Increase the ATK and DEF of all WATER and EARTH monsters by 200. Once per turn, during the main phase, You can activate one of the following effects: *Send 1 Aqua-type monster in your Spell/Trap cards zone to the Graveyard and gain Life Points equal to half of the original ATK of that monster. *Special summon 1 Aqua-type monster in the Spell/Trap cards zone, but its effects are negated and its ATK is halfed. ///////// --------------------------------------------------------------------- MONSTERS ///////// Bubbly, Infant of the Fountain level 1 Aqua/Water/Effect 0/500 Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle. When this card is sent from the field to the graveyard, you can pay 1000 Life Points to search for 1 level 4 or lower WATER Monster from your deck and add it to your hand, then shuffle your Deck. ///////// Droplet, Clinger of the Fountain Level 2 Aqua/Water/Tuner 400/800 If you control an Aqua-type or Earth-type monster, you can special summon this card from your hand. During either player's main phase, you can tribute this card and equip it as an equip card to 1 of your other Monsters. While equipped to a monster by this effect, increase the ATK and DEF of the equipped monster by 300 points. ///////// Art Credit: Wanderley Splasha, Trickster of the Fountain level 3 Aqua/Water/Effect 1500/1000 Once per turn, during your opponents battle phase when this card is being targeted by an attack, you can switch the ATK and DEF of the attacking monster before damage Calculation, until the end of that battle phase. When this card is sent to the Graveyard while equipped as an equip card, inflict 800 damage to your opponent's Life Points. ///////// Vapor, Scout of the Fountain Level 3 Aqua/Water/Effect 800/1800 When this card is summoned or flip summoned, you can randomly select 1 card in your opponents hand and look at it. When this card is sent to the Graveyard while equipped as an equip card, destroy 1 card on the field. ///////// Steem, Berserker of the Fountain Level 4 Aqua/Water/Effect 1900/1000 While attacking and only during the Battle Phase of your own turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle. (Damage calculation is applied normally) Any Monster attacked by this card has its ATK and DEF decreased by 300 points. If this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase. ///////// Mykalos, Guardian of the Fountain Level 4 Warrior/Earth/Effect 1800/1700 When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, you can special summon 1 WATER monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck, then shuffle you deck. Increase the ATK and DEF of this card by 200 points for each Aqua-type monster equipped to it. ///////// Art Credit: Rarity Geysus, Veteran of the Fountain Level 6 Aqua/Water/Effect 2300/1800 When this card is succesfully tribute summoned, you can search your deck for a level 4 or lower Aqua-type Monster and equip it to this card as an equip card, then shuffle your deck. If this card would be destroyed by a card effect, you can destroy another Aqua-type Monster you control instead, including those in the Spell/Trap cards zone. ///////// Rainos, the Matriarch of the Fountain Level 8 Aqua/Water/Effect 2700/2400 You can special summon this card by tributing 1 monster equipped with an Aqua-type Monster. When this card destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, you can search your graveyard for a level 4 or lower Aqua-type monster and equip it to 1 of your monsters as an equip card. During either player's main phase, you can tribute this card equipped with any Aqua-type Monster(s) to Destroy a number of your opponent's cards equal to the number of equipped Aqua-type monsters, and inflict 1000 damage to the opponent's Life Points. ///////// --------------------------------------------------------------------- SYNCHRO ///////// Art Credit: Kuroda Kaito Aslarn, Keeper of the Fountain Level 8 Beast/Earth/Synchro Aqua tuner + non tuner 2700/2500 When this card is synchro summoned, increase your Life Points by 400 points for each card in your Spell/Trap card zone. Once per turn, when the opponent's monster declares an attack, you can send 1 card in your Spell/Trap card zone to the graveyard to negate the attack. ///////// --------------------------------------------------------------------- SPELLS ///////// Aquatic Evolution Normal Spell Discard 1 level 4 or higher WATER monster in your hand, then add 1 level 6 or higher WATER monster from the deck to your hand. ///////// Replenishing Waters of Eden Normal Spell Activate 1 of the following effects: *Select up to 2 level 4 or lower Aqua-type "Fountain" Monsters in your graveyard and equip them to any Monster(s) you control in any way you like. *Draw 1 card. ///////// Instant Hydration Quick Spell Destroy 1 Aqua-type Monster that is equipped as an equip card in the Spell/Trap cards zone and gain 2000 Life Points. ///////// --------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAPS ///////// Luring Traps of the Fountain Normal Trap Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Special summon 1 WATER monster from either your hand or graveyard. The attacking Monster must attack the special summoned Monster, if able, during this turn. Destroy the summoned Monster at the end phase of this card's activation. ///////// Enhanced Watery shield Continuos Trap Once per turn, Monsters you control that are equipped with Aqua-type Monsters cannot be destroyed by your opponent's Spell or Trap cards. ///////// Ok thats it for now, i think they're quite balanced and they should become quite a good support for any type of deck that likes having monsters filling up the Spell/Trap zones. I think this set provides a nice niche for Aqua-type monsters and i wish they can become a strong type in the future! Tell me what u think guys PS: If sum1 could find me some artwork suitable for the cards that'd be so awesome!

Partangle the Candle Jangler
I don't feel like reading that much so for now I'm just gonna do a few of these cards. MONSTERS: Splasha: Pretty good effect....dunno if it would be too effective thought since a lot of cards nowadays have very similar ATK and DEF. Geysus: Not really seeing the point of this....the negation is fine it's just that since you basically still lose a monster and don't burn your opponent or gain Life Points yourself it seems UP'd. Aslarn: Seems pretty perfect to me. Balanced IMO. Vapor: The first effect is almost completely null unless you have Mind Crush or something. Second one is fine. SPELLS Instant Hydration: Too much Life Point gain. Reduce it to like 1200. Aquatic Evolution: Really? Discard Level 4+ for a Level 6+? It should probably be Level 4 or lower for a Level 4 or higher. That effect would fit the name more. Repleneshing Waters of Eden: The 2nd effect is so dull. So dull. Give it something like if you draw a Level 4 or less WATER monster you can Special Summon it or if you draw a Spell reveal it and draw another. Something along those lines. TRAPS Luring Traps of The Fountain: Just say switch the attack target to the summoned monster. No need for all that other stuff. Enhanced Watery Shield: The targets for it are so limited I think you should make it a Field Spell and have it's effect permanent. P.S. It's pretty obvious you put quite a lot of effort into these cards. Sorry no-one commented on 'em.

PrimeAceJohn
I like the cards; they aren't bad. I'm not quite sure if I would run this deck in like a tournament, but they do look okay. However, I noticed some OCG errors but other than that, the card look well-done. I am also quite interested in the artwork; where'd you get it from? My rate is a 7.5/
Birnam Wood Macdonwaldbain
Not bad, although it could use a little tweaking. 8/
