DARKPLANT RISING
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omphalos_hypothesis In short, it's perfectly possible that the world started just 5 minutes ago. "Yeah, but this goddamn THREAD was made more than 5 minutes ago", you say. That doesn't count as proof this theory's wrong because you could have been created with the false memory implanted inside your head, and this forum started off with everything "in place". The scary part is, it's impossible to negate this theory. Discuss on this and other hilarious and yet extremely believable theories.

evilhorus
I always liked this theory. What if I'm dreaming right now and all you people are projections of my imagination? I'm sure there is a proper name for this but I just call it the Inception Theory because I'm original

Tentacruel
But there's nothing to even suggest that would be true because "dreams" are a concept that only exist within this "dream." Anyway, I don't really believe this theory at all, and I'm fairly sure most people don't actually consider it as much as they say.

There is no justification outside of the theory that makes it true. Its circular logic. You can bring up that "within this theory, all contradictory evidence of time was only made 5 minutes ago." However, this is circular logic, because the only thing that makes your counter argument valid is the the theory. And the only thing that can validate this theory is the counter argument. The contradictory evidence needs to be proven false, outside of the theory to escape the circular logic.
Christian Exodia
What if we are all just an imagination of a brain in a jar in a lab which is on another earth dreamt up by another brain in a jar in another lab- *Head explodes* But yeah, anything could be true. The earth could have just started for all I know. There is a universe of things we are yet to discover, like the ripple of time we can enter to pass through time as we please. What we have discovered is just a tiny crumb on the bread of life. *Shot*

Bull3tM0nk3y
Okay... But it's about a place, called Eden. You know Eden? The place "that we were banished from do to our sins, blah blah". Even religions (and if I see any bashing/hate/relentless disproving in ill will I'll punish you appropriately) love their hardcore fantasy. As for Atlantis, that one was more of a misquote from some ancient greek guy (too lazy to remember). As for this theory, since the way it works cannot be tested at all (and it's quite expansive to this end), its like the matrix/kids toy/complex video game: ala Star Ocean: Till The End of Time, etc kind of creation story.
