Should be semi-limited.
Torrential Tribute is a better card than Dark Hole. Torrential Tribute stops combos instead of stopping the aftermath. That being said, my whole point is that the start of a new format includes slower decks and would make Dark Hole often be a one for one removal card. Later on in the format, as explosive decks are released, Dark Hole would be dropped for hand traps to prevent the combos and such.

I remember when Dark Hole @2 was a ycm meme/joke

however being at two would make it overpowered

I honestly took this logic from Mike.
He didn't suggest putting it to 2, but he did help me realize things about it. It's not actually that powerful and promotes skillful play.

It's not actually as powerful as most people think, but the potential tempo it can change is something to consider, and I sure as hell do not want to see that happen twice in a game.

I agree with Dogking. This should stay at 1. So should Heavy. Both offer an out in a tight situation and everybody deserves 1. It does actually require some skill and putting it @2 would just promote recklessness. I've dueled people who Dark Hole'd my one strong monster only to regret it when I came back with 2 more. Having 2 lets people recklessly play Dark Hole whenever they don't have a monster cause who cares there's another one in the deck.

How many times do I have to say that the "Konami blah blah" argument is irrelevant to these threads? These are for a fan-made banlist, and are not predictions. They are things to do for an ideal format that promotes skillful play.

I'm neutral about that fact, though a bit more on the negative side considering that it will promote skilless plays.

Holding on to Dark Hole takes skill /w1

2 would be a bit much to be honest. @1 isn't overpowered but it's still such a beautifully splashable card...

Do you want to test in order to actually prove your point?

I've played a few games and it hasn't quite been a problem.

I actually haven't played in ages, but from what I gathered it's quite useful.

You are right about it not being a problem though. Which is why it should stay @1 where it won't be a problem.

If this does become semi'd, I'm maining Starlight Road in every single one of my decks. There, problem solved, well kinda.

This is exactly the result I was hoping for. I've widened the gap between good and bad players. The point of this format is to have like 1 or 2 monsters on the field at max at any given time, and if you have any more then they're floaters.

If you choose to go against this very often, then you're likely bad and have made my format better.

Wait.. so are you calling me a bad player for using a card that can protect against these kinds of threats whilst netting you a +1 in the process? You should really make your posts more clear.
