Max Darkness
Simple as that really. Enjoy. Effect: You can activate this card's effect by discarding this card from your hand. When a card effect that destroyed a Spirit Monster(s) you controlled resolves: Banish 1 face-up card your opponent controls; Place 1 of your banished Spirit Monsters face-up on your side of the field. While the placed monster is face-up, the banished card cannot leave the Banished Zone.
ragnarok1945
interesting new way to activate the Trap, Max since you're placing the spirit monster on your side of the field, that technically doesn't count as a summon given that, can the spirit monster still use its effects, or is it just there for the sake of taking up a slot?
It has no restrictions. It can attack, activate (as long as its effect does not trigger upon Normal Summoning), and be used; Placing just bypasses the No Special Summon rulings. Sander
You should make it be able to be activated the old fashion way as well, mainly because the only good removal out there is TT, the Spirit monster that nukes field, Dark Hole and BRD (and you won't be using BRD much in a Spirit deck).
I don't see any reason not to. My only reason for the unorthodox activation was because the high-Level Spirits focus on hand advantage (rather than field or overall card advantage), so I thought I might make something to tie in with that. .Rai
How on earth do you banish a Spirit without making your Deck bad? Especially considering that Spirits run 1 of 2 line-ups: 3 Asura Priest 3 Yaksha 2 Izanami 0-1 Susa Soldier + Fairy support and LIGHT support or: 3 Caius 3 Dupe Frog 3 Swap Frog 2 Dark Dust Spirit 2 Treeborn Frog 1 Ronintoadin 1 Fenghuang + random big spirits. .Rai
If some sort of really easy banisher comes up, it looks pretty amazing though. Dunno what banishes though. Probably you'll have to make a Spirit that has 1900 ATK and can banish from either player's Graveyard. And is a Fairy. And is LIGHT. And is Level 4. Then, this becomes good.
