[LARVAE MOTH] has hidden potential

[spoiler=Little story you probably wouldn't care for]No, not really. There really isn't anything about this card to discuss, other than a story I thought would be pretty funny. This one time I went to the Dollar Tree, where everything in the store is a buck, with a friend. Turns out they were selling vintage packs of Metal Raiders... in Portugese. I decided to buy a few packs, while my friend bought a few packs of The Legend of Blue Eyes or something like that. After opening a few packs, three or four, we decided to swap and see what we pulled. He noticed I had pulled a whole play set of Portugese Larvae Moth- needless to say he was actually laughing. "This is the absolute worst card I have ever seen," he said, waving the three in front of my face. "If you give me five bucks, I'll eat 'em."

Five bucks well spent.

Anyways... Discuss this and its potential in replacing the two T.G. Striker that've been hit. It's Level two, all you'd have to do is run T.G. Jet Falcon in place of Warwolf and you could do this + Jet Falcon + Rush Rhino into Trishula Mist Wurm.

Oh thanks for reminding me, above poster

Technically Self-Destruct Button is the worst card in the game because it's impossible to win with it.

I agree with this statement.

True, but your opponent cannot win either, so your claim was technically neutralized.

You will not win regardless of whether you get SDB or not. Your opponent can by beating you before you get it.

Whereas NO ONE can beat ANYONE that plays Larvae Moth correctly.

Yes people can play Larvae Moth correctly

EDIT: Forget it, you're right :(

EDIT2: No I'm right

Never, ever, EVER I saw a more true statement.

For this alone you should become the best YCM member ever, gain a statue, a plate, and a playset of Larvae Moth and Frog the Jam.

Except Frog the Jam.

How good a card is not how whether it stops your opponent from winning.

The true definition is:

1. It helps you win by helping you win.

2. It helps you win by preventing your opponent from winning.

It stops your opponent from winning, but doesn't help you win.

Surely a nearly zero percent chance of winning is better than zero chance of winning amirite?

Yes, but a nearly 100% chance of your opponent winning is much worse than an 80% chance of a draw. Besides, as evilfusion said, practicality is what makes a card good or bad. Let's face it: in that idea (which is what YGO is about), S-DB >>> Larvae Moth, because SD-B is useful for not letting your opponent win, which would be a fate worse than the user losing if your opponent wins.

Again, let me remind you of what makes Larvae deserving of the "Worst card to ever exist" slot.

- Terrible stats (500/400)

- Semi-Nomi (seriously, Konami?)

- No effect aside from Summoning Condition

- Level 2, Wind, Insect (mediocre in every respect)

- The method of Summoning it requires 2 turns of waiting, and 2 other cards, being Petit Moth, and Cocoon of Evolution. Cocoon is a 0/2000 monster that can equip from the hand to Petit Moth and make that monster's stats equal to Cocoon's. But it can also be Summoned or Set Normally, and Cocoon as a Monster is superior to Larvae Moth.

Let me say that once more to really drive the point home: One of the cards needed to Summon Larvae Moth is already BETTER on its individual merits than Larvae Moth.

There is no practical use for Larvae. None whatsoever. If you draw it, it's a dead card unless it's been exactly 2 turns since you equipped Cocoon to Petit (a 300/200 Level 1 Normal). Any more, nothing. Any less, nothing. Just like Perfectly Ultimate requires an obscene amount of waiting, that at least gets you a 3500 beater. This gives you...a 500/400...thing. Which does nothing.

There is no benefit for playing Larvae Moth, even in its own Deck, even as a lulzy tech in another Deck. No benefit. Can't be used as a random meatshield due to Summoning Condition, its Attribute, Level, and Type offer nothing. Its Summoning Condition is stupid-as-hell, even for an old card, and the investment used to Summon it far exceeds its actual worth.

No other card, no matter how dumb, is as literally worthless as this card.
