Welche the crab
http://duelistgroundz.com/index.php?showtopic=142319 So now we actually have a list for a potential cube draft format. Anyone interested?
.Rai
I've played normal cube formats, but I've never played cube draft actually. If anyone's interested, I'd love to update the cube slightly and play a tourney with it.
Welche the crab
I'm interested and so is Brandon so that's 3 people. We need 5 more.

That's the point of Drafting. If someone takes CED, the next person should take Yata in order to stop broken decks. Even if they don't, the other 6 people probably will. Resident Fascist
Damn, now if I actually had some friends [s]who where into yugioh instead of just fighters [/s]I would be able to play that.

Welche the crab
Exactly. Drafting will stop any particular player setting up an amazing combo.

-Lightray Daedalus-
I was wondering how in the world would that work...hen I read Rochester Draft...So that's is the way you can draft in Yugimonz... Still seems iffy...But have to actually test it before saying otherwise... Oh and Archetypes cards shouldn't be in a cube...D:

Oh and Archetypes cards shouldn't be in a cube...D:
Archetypes are basically a replacement for colours as they would be in MtG. As you have to strategically choose your colour in an MtG draft, archetypes take their place (since Attributes are useless). Cube drafts should in theory work really well. Welche the crab
Why no archetypes? If you are going to pick GBs you'll do it from the start and no one else will try.
-Lightray Daedalus-
IMO...Archetypes that are too reliant on other cards from the same archetype should not be there...using this reasoning...I'll remove all the GLADS there... @NinjaPost: You'll do while the others pick all the good staples...Or some other takes the other cards you'll need JUST to ruin your picks....
1st person picks a GB 2nd person picks a GB 3rd person realises choosing GBs does absolutely nothing apart from waste 1 of his/her 55 card slot choices and concentrates on their own deck. 4th is the same. 5th is the same. 6th, 7th and 8th also. 2nd pick Previously 2nd person chooses a GB Previously 1st person chooses either another GB to simply disrupt the first's picks, or abandons it to make a good deck. 2nd person gets GBs, others get good decks. I see no problem. If one of the players decide to carry on disrupting, then GBs are basically removed from the draft and the players can carry on drafting with 50 so choices. -Lightray Daedalus-
Better Yet...Nobody has picks GBs...coz there are plenty of generic stuff to work with...

It's not as if it's any different in Magic. If someone starts drafting a colour, another player will either try to intercept those plays, or avoid the colour as much as possible. -Lightray Daedalus-
I just saw that I skipped your example...and that is VERY unlikely...Cards are randomnized and placed in stacks and each stack is opened separately...So for 1 round to open various cards of the same archetype is unlikely...in this regard...ANY player may take the change to screw over the GB played at any given time... Same works for stuff that is Too narrow...like Snoww, VanDalgyon Etc

-Lightray Daedalus-
Becuase is Roschester as everyone sees what you'll pick...people taking away those GBs...will do it enterely if the do not need to pick something else...or if they want to hinder you coz they'd like you to rage... In regular Draft...you opening a GB are facing a situation where you'll debate yourself wether to: Oh look a GB...Someone certantly may be picking them...or not?...Should I pick it just in case...will somebody realized I first picked a GB and they'll won't pass them...and what if I don't pick the Self Discards cards and someone else picking up those Dark Worlds?...and What if in the cube there is a JD and i'm passing those LS to someone else?...Etc
