Not-so-Radiant Arin
This guy is getting old. You could practically see the wrinkles in his face. He really tried hard to change our country, but nothing really changed. EDIT: "Let the most powerful do as they please." Yep, that definitely sounds like Dictatorship.
You have to remember something here: this is the fundamentals of how presidents work in the FIRST term, the only thing they do is get the people's support to get themselves re-elected it's only in the SECOND term that they actually do something because they know they cannot serve a third term
He doesn't have speech skills, he has speaking skills, there's a fine difference. No presidents write their own speeches, they are like James Patterson books, none of them are written by the person taking credit for them because they need to do it under a big name. More-or-less, making them puppets pretty much. He's just good at speaking pre-written things. Take Bush for example with his 9-11 speech, there was no time for writers when that happened and he stumbled the sh*t out of that speech. It was a wreck and I bet Obama would do just the same. ragnarok1945
that's how it works with all politians (we've known this since the late 80s): which is they promise everything, but they achieve nothing, Well, ok maybe not nothing, but VIRTUALLY nothing

But, in my honest opinion, I think that as of the last 50 years or so, presidents have been there to make loads of unfulfillable promises and just to make our country look good with a decent looking man running the country. They know what they're doing but nevertheless, they are all just puppets.
ragnarok1945
Yeah, and sooner or later the public needs to realize the presidents' words are mostly hollow

He just went on screen and told the public that he didn't do anything wrong, the people themselves screwed the economy up (or was that a different president, can't remember now)

You can get out of poverty, I'm proven evidence. Yet people are too blind to see that and blame the government for all of their problems when it really is the citizens of this country that are at fault for staying in the poverty level when they sure as hell can get out of it if they really tried. I've never heard of that before, I'll have to look that up. But in truth, people should be hit with a reality check and I think that it's a good thing that Regan (or whatever president that was) did that. FindingTheEverlight
That's basically the whole meaning of mankind, somebody always wants to be the alpha male, Whether they want to earn it, or overthrow to run. Like me for example, I just applied to become a shift superivisor at my job, to both take on the responsibility and to make more money. Every human being is power hungry, whether they have more money to take over or just go to make more to be more powerful.
