4:30 am to begin the daily activities there at 5:20, going until 7:20 am. Then I'll have to go to work until like 4 pm, then at 7:00 pm go to Uni and get home at 11:00 pm.

tl;dr: I can barely sleep.

Good God

Do you need me to sleep for you?

Also, I've considered joining the Air Force on multiple occasions

Except my grades are so good that i can get into most schools now and that my family strongly opposes the United States' current wars

But back to the sleeping

Never, EVER tell yourself that you're going to get 30 more minutes. You only lay there waiting for 30 minutes to come and you will never be rested. Just get up and get it done with. I normally have to get up around 4:30-5:00 to study since I'm too lazy to do it in the day :3

Good luck, Mu. I'm sure you'll do fine.

Stock up on 5-Hour energies or whatever. You might need them.

I've considered the Military as a potential source of income, one that's fueled by my interest in firearms and the like. However, war is s***, and my family would prefer if I had a safer career. I'll just stick to video games or airsoft for my war needs.

Does this mean no more YCM? :(

As you can see, I'll still be on, especially on weekends :3

So.

FIRST DAY AT THE ACADEMY REPORT

First time waking up at 0430. It wasn't as hard as I first anticipated, maybe because I have a natural excitement for anything new. Woke up, drank milk and ate a bread, and I still don't have my suit so I went with normal clothes. There I went with my bike to the HQ (the distance is around 7-8 km, by the way. But in the earliest morning there's no transtit so it's very fast to get there).
Arriving there, I met all of my teammates. Once the clock hit 0520, our chief began the instructions. First we left off our material on the basement, then we proceed to our default site to begin. We learned our War Name (Mine is Canejo), we got our mate (everyone has a fixed mate, mine is called Ricardo Silva), and we learned some movements and conducts. The most important part was the formation of the team. It's orded by size, so the biggest ones are placed mostly to the right and on the front, then reducing until the smallest recruit is placed at the far left and bottom. The team was then divided into 5 sub categories called GCs. Mine is the 4th one. The commandants of each GC are the ones that were placed on the front of each line. We also have a general commandant for the team, which is defined by our Sergeant (the instructor and head chief), usually one different general commandant per week.

Are you going to learn swordfighting so you can duel Prince Welche?

Relevant part of this post: If their was an attack on your country, would you have to fight?
No

and

No

Because I'm just below the apprentice level and I'm just there because I'm forced.

I'll still learn all positions and commands and I'll handle a gun. My title is already "Shooter" since I became part of the Militar Body.

So how long until you would be ready to fight? Do you get to learn hand to hand combat?
Not sure if I'll learn THOSE techniques, but it might happen.

I might even go to the field for a weekend, depending on how your head chief is.

The marines tried to recruit me in 2006. They got a wigger to call me -- and I know that wigger was a wigger because he sounded so white, I could smell the mayonnaise in his wigger breath -- and eventually, I brought up that I needed prescribed pills to focus, unaware that they don't like that. He said I couldn't join. Good times.

I guess that a sight loss of sleep (ok, a lot) is ok if you are serving your country in some way or another.

However, that is one of the reasons I love Australia. We don't cause wars. Take the Iraq war on now. We are there because we respect our allies who fight there, and as such want to help as much as possible.
Except, of course, that establishes our goverment as stupid and makes Australia a laughing stock.

But, more to the point, we often don't need many soldiers to defend our shores. The one time we were attacked on Australian soil was that day in Darwin, years ago. And, if I must say, it was rather pointless since we weren't very involved in either of the World Wars (excluding Gallipoli)

Besides, I'm female and I would much rath serve my country by being a polititian, a diplomat of foreign affairs or a scientist finding cures for disease.
And yes, I was serious when I said polititian.

I'm not going to say the US Armed Forces are idiots or anything, but I've received recruitment mail labeling me as a high school senior for 5 years running. :/

My first semester in community college, the army tried to recruit me by offering me a hat. I'm serious.
