Beast8907
Greetings to any and all members who read my topic! I've never been a member to a forum prior to this one. I read a few threads and this forum seems to contain some pretty good people so I thought I'd give it a shot. I began playing Yu-Gi-Oh quite a while ago; not too long after the original starter decks were released lol. I casually played and collected cards for about two years before I realized my friends no longer possessed the desire to duel with me. So I put my cards away in a box (keeping my deck intact of course) until recently when I introduced my girlfriend to the anime; she absolutely loves it. We went out and bought her the Dragon's Collide structure deck and now we duel at least once or twice a week. Anyway, I'm 22 now and still enjoying the small things in life. And I felt like it was time to (hopefully) join an online community of people who share my interest of duel monsters. I hope to hear back from a member or two! Demon Loki
Welcome to YCM!! Avoid the TCG section and you'll be fine.
DARKPLANT RISING
Actually, it's okay to go to the TCG section if you have a vast knowledge of the gameplay and top-tier decks, have topped locals various times, and wasted a large portion of your life on useless childrens' card games. Like me. But if you've never topped a local, don't go. We'll devour you, and everything you hold dear. No, seriously. Anyhow, welcome to YCM. Okay, so I know this is a bit sudden, but I don't want you to die. Look at my siggy, and go to the "Noob Tutorial". Read it. It basically contains all the information needed for you to not be classified as a failtroll. If you follow the instructions, you'll be happy on here. Most guys are helpful and funny to people who don't act "stupid". Got it? Okay. Cya.
Guest evilchris
What Darkplant said isn't exactly true. I was bad when I first went to the TCG section, albeit I had a slight idea of how competitive play worked, and since then I became one of the best players there. Just, if you do go there, expect to get harshly criticised for being wrong. Enjoy wasting your life on this forum, as many of us now do~
Guest Mu-12
Darkplant is right Tristan, because like me, you learned and didn't try to argue on the beginning. If a member has beliefs that are like in the anime, yes, they'll be murdered on TCG. Anyways, welcome, follow the rules and have fun :
Guest Welche
Ya Darkplant is wrong. Just PRETEND to know a lot about YGO and you should be solid. The less support you give, the better!

Guest Dworkin
Why do all new members seem to think this? It's true that people in TCG tend to massacre people who dont know much about the game.

That's how I try to get by in the TCG section but I end up looking bad anyway. Anyway, welcome.
Guest evilchris
It's true that people in TCG tend to massacre people who dont know much about the game. Only if they don't try to learn. If they're stubborn about something that we find incorrect, we don't want them in TCG.
Resident Fascist
Only if they don't try to learn. Guest evilchris
like I used to be? lol. Just agree with any of the pros and you'll be fine... Yes. Oh and your second part isn't strictly true. I've disagreed with the pros on a few occasions for my own reasons, and I don't believe I've ever received much of any disrespect in TCG. Beast8907
Wow. I am happily surprised at the number of replies my topic received in just twelve hours. Thank you to each person who took the time to send a pleasant welcome my way. I appreciate it. And I also gives thanks to those who specifically gave me advice or information. Especially Dark Plant - Venom. I immediately seized advantage of the "noob" topic upon reading your comment. The rules seem to line up quite nicely with my normal expectations (or wishes I suppose) for online communication. So I don't foresee too much abberation on my part. Thanks again! I look forward to becoming a part of this online community. :)

Lunar Origins
The only advice I can give is become your own personality here. Go to TCG if you know how to play the game. Even if you don't, but still want to learn, you can go and post there. People will (hopefully) explain the game.
DARKPLANT RISING
We'll first eplain why something you said was wrong. And when you disagree, we'll start killing you. If you agree, you'll be invited in.
Beast8907
Well I definitely plan on venturing into the TCG section. I will certainly keep an open mind, due mostly to the fact that I have not dueled in more than five years. I am not fully aware of any rule changes, new cards, etc. I will be posting my deck soon and I am looking forward to receiving the remarks, comments, lashings, and insults the forum can offer me. Lol.

Guest Kanade Otonashi
Well, as long as you listen to people you won't have a problem. You gotta understand a lot has changed since you last played, so it's very, very likely that your deck won't even be considered slightly good. Of course, that isn't an absolute, but it's very possible. If they tell you it isn't good, it's not a personal thing. But, welcome to the forum! Enjoy your stay! ^^
