The Emperor's Holiday
Continuous Trap
Negate the effects of all Equip Cards.

Some sort of Anti-Hornet? I'm sure there are better options though. Discuss.

I wanted to make this topic.
Why? It's simple:

On-Topic: If the wordings like this are similar to stuff like using Debris to revive Lonefire and use it's effect only to have it negated, then this seems hilarious for a side-deck card.

Never thought about it...
But isn't sending itself a cost? Or am I just that unskilled with the rulings of these new meta cards?

The Emperor's Holiday does not specifiy "on the field". It should negate the effects of equipped cards like Hornet as well when attempting to use its destruction effect.

I think the question here is whether Hornet is treated as an Equip Card when it's in the graveyard, as that's where the effect activates.

The effect of Hornet activates and resolves on the field. When its equipped and you activate the destruction effect of Hornet, you are activating the effect of an Equip Spell Card, similar to activating "Wattcube" to increase the ATK of a Thunder-Type monster by 1000. It is an effect of an Equip Spell Card, no matter what it the card becomes in the Graveyard. It does not become "an effect of a monster."
