BrawlBots (Based on Robot Arena 2)

It's been a while since I posted a new set/archetype, so it's good to be back.

This set is, as the title implies, based on BattleBots-style robotic combat. It's a family of EARTH/Machine monsters, with the heavy hitters being Contact Fusion monsters. The kicker is that as long as there is a "BrawlBot" on the field, both players can only control one monster on their respective sides of the field (although a support card I might release later may expand it to 2 monsters per player). What's worse, their planned effects (I'm not finished yet) revolve around opening up your opponent's side of the field to attack by screwing with their monster, like temporarily moving it to their Spell/Trap Zone or changing its Battle Position. To compensate, the real heavy hitters require a "BrawlBot" Fusion Monster as a material; in other words, they are Fusions of a Fusion and another monster. (I can only remember one "double Fusion" monster like that, "Rare Fish".)

They come in 3 "weight classes": LW (lightweight Effect Monsters), MW (middleweight Fusion Monsters), and HW (heavyweight Fusion-of-a-Fusion Monsters). The pics came from bots I designed in Robot Arena 2, a really fun robotic combat simulation game.

In short, they force the game to a 1-on-1 format and use smaller, weaker monsters to grow progressively stronger in a specific line, thus turning Yu-Gi-Oh into a bizarre pastiche of the Pokemon TCG. Weird, huh?

i like them but i dont get the reason for moving them to the spell and trap card zone can you please explain? Also you should make dozer a higher ATK cause he wont be on the field for more then 2 turns because of it being 1900. try making it 2100 cause if u dnt want to use its effect at lease you can attack directly if wedgie uses his effect

Glad you asked. The strategy behind wedge-shaped combat robots is to lift the opponent a bit off the ground and push it around, preferably pinning it into a wall. I translated this to the current effect, allowing you to get in a free attack. I was afraid that allowing it to attack in the same turn would make it OP'd. Later cards may make it more useful, so stay tuned.

I'm kind of dubious of that. With the field-control effects it has, I figured it might be OP'd if its ATK was too high. I'll wait for more critiques, but I'll keep it in mind.

Added another LW and the first HW.

All of the effects seem kind of unusable for the most part. The effect doesn't exclude themselves when they are summoned, so all you're doing is hurting yourself while leaving your field open for a direct attack, and possible OTK. You should fix the effect to where it returns all cards except itself back to the hand. Otherwise these monsters aren't even remotely worth running.

Seriously, fix the effects. |:<

How about the Flap Jack fusion ingredient?
Sorry! I changed its name to "Forkie", and I forgot to change the MW card. I'll fix that later today.

That and the HW one is impossible to get out as it requires you to have a fusion monster in your hand.
Yeah, I realized that, too. This is because I used the same template for both MW and HW BrawlBots. I'll fix that too, somewhere around my lunchtime.

While the lore has been fixed and updated, the pics have not. Photobucket sucks.

I renamed "RamDozer" to "Earth Mover". It just sounded better. It and "Ripper Wedgie" have also been buffed; their monster-moving effects work until the end of your next End Phase (giving you a free attack), and "Earth Mover"'s ATK has been boosted to 2100. In addition, "Mega-TyrannoBot XL 200"'s Fusion Materials can now come from either the hand or the field; the idea is that you'll have "Earth Mover" on the field and "Mjolnir" in your hand. I plan on patterning all the HW BrawlBots on "Mega-TyrranoBot", so stay tuned.

WHAT!? SOMEONE ELSE ON YCM PLAYS RA2 AS WELL!?!?
Yeah. I used the DSL mod to make the bots, then cropped the screenshots.
Oh, and Mjolnir doesn't really need that last line on it's effect, TBH.
I figured I'd give it a little insurance against Trap Cards.
