How is Caius not screwed by Inzektor Hornet?
And how is Pudding still destroyed if the monster no longer exists to destroy it?

Because Pudding goes after damage, herp.

1. Rather Caius screws Inzektors more than Puddingcess screws Inzektors. Because frankly, one of them banishes and the other doesn't.
2. Because after damage calculation.

Well then it is pretty worthless.
Nevermind.

However, if Hornet is on the board and you have a chance to summon Caius, it's probably too late to stop them anyway.

Yes, but Treeborn Frog exists.

Guys, it would be broken if it activated before the damage step. If it did, you could kill the other monster, cause a replay, and have a Raigeki...

See: Catastor

Except Catastor activates during the Damage Step, not before =/

Stop looking at the translation it was given. While yes, this is all that the Japanese card says, in English it does not explain itself too well based on what we understand as to "When a card battles". The only thing that matters is its original Japanese text matching that exactly in regards to D. D. Warrior Lady. That alone is enough judgment to say its ruled just like D. D. Warrior Lady, at least for the time being.

Understand that "When a card battles" is a HUGE time period starting with Attack Declaration all the way to the End of the Damage Step. There are many effects in english in regards to "When a card battles" but it always specifically says WHEN it would activate, such as "before Damage Caclulation" or "At the end of the Damage Step". The "translation" of Madolce Puddincess did not explain that, so it in itself is not enough information to say "it works like Galaxy Eyes or Catastor".

Give up your hopes on it activating in the Battle Step or Before Damage Calculation.

This is when we bet on the stupidity of TCG.

I suppose you have a point there. We'll have another "misruling" to make Madolces seem more awesome for a format or two with Princesses being over $100 before it gets fixed or something =/

There's also the fact that they blatantly mistranslated Dragon Asterisk even though we proved it could be normal or special summoned by any means iirc.

People think this would be good as it is, which is surprising enough.

Madolce are piss-weak, and will always be/will be until they get good support.

For now, they're rubbish and this isn't even remotely good, it's a weaker version of D.D. Warrior Lady that happens to get Madolce support, which isn't even a strong archetype as it is.
