Infernal Maelstrom Pt. 1 of 3- A New Race of Dragons

Hello everyone, The Oracle of Orignality's back, and I've got some new sets to throw at ya! This time, though, it came from experience, time, and loads of fortitude. As you may know, I took some time off. Started up a Youtube Channel to promote Rumble Roses 3D, and even joined Yugico and Duel Terminal. Nice, huh?

 

So, that time got me to thinking. I could make cards until the sun didn't shine, yet they'd serve little purpose outside of this site. They need to have a story to keep them intriguing. Hell, look at Gagagigo and Yubel if you don't believe me!

 

So, I decided to make this series a trilogy, and a good one at that. It epitomizes a grand struggle between three great forces for the sake of a kingdom as divergent as time itself. Who're the lucky ladies for tonight? Read and find out. I'm not spoiling the surprise THIS time.

Age 2743, Miraldo- The Siege of Ignitus Temple

 

" -curse it, Khali, I'm getting sick of having to save your pasty butt all the time!!"

 

A taloned hand closed over Khali's hand, pulling the dragon-warrior to his feet just as more explosions rocked the landscape. Khali, after sourly kicking the corpse next to him, turned to his savior.

 

"Bacolla, don't worry. Besides, we're the Circle of Ignitus-"

 

[spoiler=Circle of Ignitus: Khali]

 

Lore: During the End Phase of a turn when this card was destroyed by battle against a monster your opponent controlled with the same Level; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. This card cannot be Tributed, or used as a Synchro or Fusion Material Monster. When this card is removed from the field by an opponent's monster (whether by battle or by card effect;) That monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

Lore: During your End Phase, if this face-up card you control is in Attack Position: Pay 900 Life Points (this is not optional.) When this card is destroyed by your opponent's monster (either by battle or by card effect), that monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

 

"-we're made to take the heat and throw it back in their face!"

 

Bacolla sighed. "Still, there is a proper way to execute our seal techniques. Look over yonder, and

see for yourself...."

 

'There' referred to the battle occurring on the other edge of the plains, between several members of

their nemeses, the Mallestorm, and several of the Ignitus assault force, led by Halthion.

 

[spoiler=Mallestorm Bloodline: Faio]

 

Lore: You can Special Summon this card (from your Graveyard) when you control a Level 8 "Mallestorm" monster. If you do, banish this card when it leaves the field. Once per turn: You can discard 1 "Mallestorm" monster from your hand to target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy it. You can only control 1 "Mallestorm Bloodline: Faio."

 

[spoiler=Mallestorm Bloodline: Naigusta]

 

Lore: FLIP: Target up to 2 monsters your opponent controls; Return the targets to their owners' hands. Once, when a "Mallestorm" monster you control has its effects negated; Flip this face-up card into face-down Defense Position.

 

[spoiler=Circle of Ignitus: Del Rahim Assault Force]

 

Lore: During your Battle Phase; Switch this Defense Position card to Attack Position, and it must attack during this turn. During your opponent's Battle Phase; Switch this Attack Position card to Defense Position, and your opponent's first attack target must be this card. When this card is removed from the field by an opponent's monster (either by battle or by card effect); That monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

Lore: During the end of your next turn after this card has been Normal Summoned: Draw 2 cards, then banish 1 card from your hand. During your End Phase, if you have 3 or more cards in your hand; Banish the top card of your Deck. When this card is removed from the field by your opponent's monster (either by battle or by card effect;) That monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

 

For Halthion, though, it was his rival that had the upper hand.

 

"We trusted you! We respected you! We were ready to finalyl align our races and fates together!!"

screamed Faio, in between shots at the Ignitus members' hides.

 

"And-you-threw-it-away-for-THIS?!"

 

On 'this,' his last shot was aimed for Halthion, but it went wide, and instead burned its way into the back

of a different Ignitus dragon.

 

And he did not take back-attacks lightly.

 

[spoiler='Circle of Ignitus: Ceamus]

 

Lore: When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; It loses 1200 ATK. At the end of a Battle Phase where this card battled a monster with 1000 ATK or less; Destroy it. When this card is destroyed by your opponent's monster (eitherr by battle or by card effect); That monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

 

"Hit in the back. Names. NOW!!"

 

Halthion immediately pointed at Faio. The noble dragon blanched. "Umm.....it's not what you think

it looks like..."

 

BLAM!

 

After Ceamus used a pillar of flames shot from his hand to silence Faio, he turned to Naigusta.

"Start running, or you're next."

 

Naigusta needed no further demanding. He was gone in a flash.

Meanwhile, in the air, another war was taking place, in order to keep the Mallestorm away from the

Ignitus palace gates. Forefront in the fray was Rocque and Demee of the Circle of Ignitus.

 

[spoiler=Circle of Ignitus: Rocque]

 

Lore: When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; Special Summon 1 "Ignitus" monster from your Graveyard with a Level equal to the target. During each player's Main Phase 1: Target 1 "Ignitus" monster you control; once during that turn, that target cannot be destroyed by battle.

 

 

[spoiler=Circle of Ignitus: Demee]

 

Lore: During the Battle Phase; This card must attack your opponent's face-up monster that has the highest ATK. (If it is a tie, you get to choose.) When this card is removed from the field by your opponent's monster (either by battle or by card effect;) That monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

 

"Roc-know my sight's gettin' dim, but is that not the Mallestorm leader three clicks over?" Demee asked,

pointed at the floating figure across the sky.

 

Rocque took a look, his eyes widening at the revelation. "Indeed it is. Dem, let's make this

mistake of an invasion her last one!"

 

The two dragon-warriors flew forward toward her, but were stopped by yet another Mallestorm member-

this time, a much more powerful one.

 

[spoiler=Mallestorm Bloodline: Silco]

 

Lore: You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) when the effect of a "Mallestorm" monster you control is negated. If you do, your opponent can Special Summon 1 monster from their hand, but cannot Special Summon during their next turn. During your Draw Phase, instead of drawing; You can add 1 Level 7 or higher "Mallestorm" monster from your Deck to your hand.

 

Silco flexed his claws.

 

"Rogues, this is as far as you get to our queen. Turn and run, while I still let you stand."

 

Rocque grinned. "Actually, Silco, you're half right. This is as far as YOU'LL get to stopping us.

DEMEE, NOW!!"

 

Immediately, the Ignitus member vaulted over Silco, then plunged an elbow into the dragon's

shoulder blades, sending him staggering into Rocque's assault.

 

While the two locked horns, Demee took off toward the unguarded queen of the Mallestorm, Kira.

"Any last words, you obsessive harpy?!"

 

Kira immediately snapped her head to the triumphant Demee. A scowl soon tore her face in half.

 

"Four, actually...."

 

[spoiler=I Wasn't Born Yesterday!]

 

Lore: Activate only when the only monster you control is 1 face-up "Mallestorm" monster. Equip this card to that monster. It gains 700 ATK when it is attacked, until the end of the turn. If the equipped monster inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, discard 1 card from your opponent's hand.

 

As Demee plummeted to the awaiting dirt, Kira aimed her voice higher.

 

"Galhalli, get over here!!"

 

At once, the head of the Mallestorm air armada came forth. "Yes, my queen?"

Lore: During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon this card (from your Graveyard) by Tributing 1 "Mallestorm" monster whose effects have been negated, but it cannot attack during that turn. Once per turn; You can discard 1 "Mallestorm" monster; Add 1 "Mallestorm" monster with a different name, but the same Level from your Deck to your hand.

 

"Notice anything about my throne?"

 

"Well...um, the defense systems are out, and..." Galhalli said. Then, suddenly, it clicked.

"No! Queen Kira, are you all right? Was I too late?"

 

"I'd be worrying more about YOUR health right now. Where were you when Lucien's soldiers

came at me?!" the Mallestorm ruler yelled.

 

"Overseeing the air force's progress, your Highness. Forgive me."

 

Kira sighed. "Forgiven. But Lucien needs to be drawn out now. His avoidance prolongs this

needless struggle." Her gaze turned towards her force's backline. "Are the grounds set up?"

 

"Yes, my queen."

 

"Then wait for my word."

"-see?" Bacolla declared, pointing towards Ceamus' path of destruction. "That is how

to properly use these seals we possess!"

 

Khali simply yawned. "C'mon, Bac, you don't need to lecture me on this hock and bull.

I'm already knocking Mallestorm skulls without your help!"

 

Bacolla's gaze hardened.

 

"Fool! This is a WAR, in case you haven't noticed, and-"

 

" Oh, by the way, Mallestorm stealth force on your six."

 

"-we have tactics to follow-say what?"

 

"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!"

 

[spoiler=Mallestorm Bloodline: Del Rahim Special Ops]

 

Lore: Once per turn, while this card is in face up Attack Position; You can discard 1 Level 7 or higher "Mallestorm" monster; Draw 2 cards, then switch this card to Defense Position. This Defense Position card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle against a monster with 2000 or more ATK.

 

Before the squad could take advantage of Bacolla, Khali whistled loudly, then yanked his

fellow Ignitus member out of the path of the Del Rahim's swords.

 

"Thanks, but what was the whistllng for...."

 

The rest of the words died on Bacolla's lips as two beasts soon tore through the

Mallestorm pack.

 

 

[spoiler=Circle of Ignitus: Sin Faras]

 

 

Lore: If this Defense Position card is attacked; Negate the effect(s) of the attacking monster, until the end of the turn. During your Draw Phase, unless you control 1 "Circle of Ignitus: Sin Maras;" Discard 1 card. When this card is removed from the field by your opponent's monster (either by battle or by card effect;) That monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

Lore: If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle; It can attack once again in a row. If it does, all Battle Damage taken becomes 0. During your Draw Phase, unless you control 1 "Circle of Ignitus: Sin Faras;" Your opponent can discard 1 random card (from your hand.) When this card is removed from the field by an opponent's monster (whether by battle or by card effect;) That monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

 

"Them." Khali replied.

 

Bacolla's eyes widened. "Faras and Maras....perhaps I have underestimated your spirit and

fighting acumen."

 

"No, really?" snapped the Ignitus member. "Now stand back, I'm gonna thin the Mallestorm

ranks some more. Faras, Maras..."

 

 

[spoiler=Unleash Hell!]

 

Lore: Once per turn, when an Level 4 or lower "Ignitus" monster you control destroys a monster by battle; You can target 1 Level 2 or lower "Ignitus" monster in your Deck; Special Summon that target in Attack Position. The effects of all monsters Summoned by this effect are negated and they cannot be used for a Fusion Summon.

Galhalli stared in disbelief at the damage wreaked by the two Sin beasts. "My queen, now do we...?"

 

"Indeed." Kira closed her eyes. "Tell Shimme to activate the summoning rituals."

 

 

[spoiler=Mallestorm Bloodline: Shimme]

 

Lore: When this card is Summoned; Add 1 "Mallestorm Summoning Grounds" or 1 "Mallestorm" Ritual Monster from your Deck to your hand. Both players can only attack with one monster during their respective Battle Phases. During your Main Phase; You can negate this effect, until your opponent's next End Phase.

 

"Understood." Galhalli roared-the signal for Shimme to prepare the rituals.

 

Kira looked on upon the war-torn plains of Midrior.

 

"Curse it, Lucien, it wasn't supposed to come to this..."

King Lucien of the Ignitus was busy pouring over battle maps, when suddenly

his right hand, Camph, burst into the room.

 

"Lord, we're losing ground at a rapid pace and the queen is in plain sight, what are we to do?!"

 

[spoiler=Circle of Ignitus: Camph]

 

Lore: You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Tributing 1 monster your opponent controls that has destroyed an "Ignitus" monster you control, and gained its effects. This card inflicts piercing Battle Damage. Once per turn; When an "Ignitus" monster you control is destroyed by battle; Gain all Life Points you would have lost from that battle, instead.

 

Lucien wearily met Camph's gaze.

 

"In the middle of our efforts to destroy the Gate? Almighty, has Kira no sense for avoiding

destruction?!"

 

"Barring the expedition for a second, my lord, but..."

 

"Sorry. Alright, tell Bathra to mobilize the Inner Circle. But remember my previous order-under NO

circumstances will we call out our champions. If too much power collects in this one area...."

 

Camph nodded.

 

"I know. And for this instance only, my lord..."

 

The dragon-warrior turned to leave.

 

"...I hope your predictions are wrong."

"Arise, mighty Hierarchs of the Bloodline. Arise, and bring victory to the cradle of the Mallestorm!"

Shimme proclaimed, as the dragon legends came forth from the portals set up before him.

 

[spoiler=Mallestorm Summoning Grounds]

 

Lore: This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Mallestorm" Ritual Monster. You must also Tribute monster from the field or your hand whose total Levels equal the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. You can shuffle this card from the Graveyard into your Deck to target 1 non-Ritual "Mallestorm" monster in your Graveyard; Take damage equal to it's Level x 300, then add it to your hand.

 

 

[spoiler=Mallestorm Hierarchs: Tsunami]

 

Lore: Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned. You can Ritual Summon this card with "Mallestorm Summoning Grounds." When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle; Add 1 "Mallestorm" monster with ATK equal to or lower than the destroyed monster's ATK from your Deck to your hand. This card gains 500 ATK for each "Mallestorm" Ritual Monster in your Graveyard.

Lore: Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned. You can Ritual Summon this card with "Mallestorm Summoning Grounds." When this face-up card is sent to the Graveyard; Destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls.

 

 

[spoiler=Mallestorm Hierarchs: Daizuke]

 

Lore: Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned. You can Ritual Summon this card with "Mallestorm Summoning Grounds." When this card is Ritual Summoned; Draw 1 card, and reveal it. If it is a "Mallestorm" monster, then shuffle up to 2 cards your opponent controls into their Deck. When this card battles a monster whose ATK is 3000 or higher; Destroy that monster immediately without applying damage calculation.

 

Tsunami, Daizuke, and Hattori, legendary dragons of the Mallestorm, turned to Shimme.

 

"Wow, what flopped in here and imploded here?" asked Hattori.

 

Shimme slapped a hand over his head.

 

"Dragons, focus! Ignitus forces are trying to regroup. Show them why it's an exercise in

futility!"

 

Daizuke grinned. "Perfect. Where should we start?"

 

Shimme simply jabbed a finger at the iron gates barring the Mallestorm army from Lucien's palace.

"Holy...." Khali gasped, looking at the arrival of the Mallestorm Hierarchs.

 

"Nothing holy about this." Bacolla turned to Khali, then their Del Rahim forces, then

Halthion and Ceamus.

 

"We need to hold the line until Lucien arrives! Men, ready your weapons!" Ceamus yelled.

 

Noticing the movements of Daizuke and Tsunami, Halthion suddenly paled. "Uh, guys...Lucien

may be showing up sooner than you think...."

 

"How so?" Bacolla asked.

 

TSEEEEEWW!

 

Tsunami's lasers barreled over the dragon warriors' heads and smashed into the gate, tearing it

to pieces.

 

"They weren't even gunning for us in the first place!!" Ceamus cried in shock. Then he flashed a

grin.

 

"Who's with me on makin' them regret it?"

Camph looked on at the wrecked gates and the charging Mallestorm army in despair.

 

"And so the siege begins...my lord, I hope you know what you're doing..."

 

[spoiler=The Siege of Ignitus Temple]

 

Lore: When you activate this effect, Tribute 1 Dragon-Type monster you control, then switch the battle positions of all monsters your opponent controls. You cannot Special Summon monsters by any card effect, except this one. When you Normal Summon an "Ignitus" or "Mallestorm" monster; You can target 1 "Ignitus" or "Mallestorm" monster in your Graveyard with ATK less than that monster's ATK; Special Summon it. Destroy this card during your third End Phase after activation.

 

As the Mallestrom forces surrounded the Palace, they were greeted by a new Ignitus force.

Lore: This card cannot be destroyed by a Spell/Trap effect or Effect Monster's effect. Destroy this face-up card when it is selected as an attack target. When this card is removed from the field by an opponent's monster (whether by battle or by card effect;) That opponent's monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

 

All 140 of them.

 

"Ready...." said the squad leader, Ronan.

"And remember: NO calls to the Champions! You know why we up and relocated here, Bathra."

Camph reminded the Ignitus consulate.

 

"More than anyone else." came the sultry response.

 

Camph then raced out to assist Ronan and the Ilkhan bombardment. Soon after, the Kaishiinist

stalked over to Bathra.

 

[spoiler=Circle of Ignitus: The Kaishiinist]

 

Lore: If this card in your hand is used for the Special Summon of an "Ignitus" Fusion Monster; You can shuffle 1 "Ignitus" card in your Graveyard back into the Deck, except "Circle of Ignitus: The Kaishiinist." Once per turn: Target 1 monster you control; Tribute that target and gain Life Points equal to half its original ATK (this is not optional.) When this card is removed from the field by your opponent's monster (either by battle or by card effect;) That monster gains this card's effects, in addition to its own.

 

"Dangit, Bathra, Lucien's leaving to go chase Kira and the Mallestorm are at our doorstep-

NOW can I call the Champions?!" He was obviously at wit's end. "They'll be in and out before

that whole gate thing comes on!"

 

Bathra turned.

 

"Actually, there's been a change of plans. Now listen. The second Lucien leaves the base limits..."

"-FIRE!"

 

And with Ronan's last word, the Ilkhan's fired plasma blasts into the Mallestorm-thick battleground.

 

[spoiler=The Ignitus Strike Back]

 

Lore: When an "Ignitus" monster you control activates an effect that would cause the monster that removed it from the field to gain its effects: Activate one of the following effects:

* You can target 1 other monster your opponent controls; The target gains your removed "Ignitus" monster's effects instead, in addition to its own.

* Inflict 600 damage to your opponent.

Shimme looked at the black sky with awe. "Oh my-!! They're bringing out the big guns!

Tsunami, you know what to do!!"

 

Without missing a beat, the Hierarch stepped forward, ejecting his armor platings.

Lore:When an opponent's monster declares an attack on a "Mallestorm" monster you control; Destroy all Attack Position monsters your opponent controls.

 

Kira seemed unperturbed by the barrage. "My, the Circle just doesn't know when to quit-"

 

"Surprised much?"

 

Kira stood in shock as Lucien suddenly appeared in front of her and Galhalli. "They're MY army,

after all."

 

Kira stared at him for a moment. Then, "My beloved...."

 

Lucien winced at the words.

 

"Still you call me that, after what I did to you.....I don't deserve it."

 

Galhalli roared. "Exactly! Leaving our queen at the altar to go chase after some crumbling arch!!

What sort of a person are you-?!"

 

"GALHALLI!" This came from Kira herself. "If you don't have any better hobbies than yelling

at MY love, go protect the army that Ronan is hammering away at!"

 

Galhalli flew off to did so, but not without shooting Lucien a parting death glare.

 

"You know we can end this quickly." Kira's eyes flashed with hope. "Come back to Haqua with me.

Finish the ceremony you...we started."

 

Worrisomely, Lucien shook his head. "No, Kira! I came here to stop a horror that could consume

this very world! And I won't rest until-"

 

CRARARACCK!!

 

Whipping his head around to view the source of the disturbing sound, the Ignitus king screamed.

"NOOOOOO!!"

 

"What is it now?"

 

"Someone activated the emergency mechanism in my palace! We're doomed!"

 

"What? Oh, Galhalli can handle whatever that fortress throws at him." Noticing Lucien's

terrified expression didn't change a bit, Kira continued. "Why do you persist in such mourning?"

 

"Because..." and this time Lucien turned to face her, rage building in his eyes.

"...it's not THAT that's the problem!!"

[spoiler=Palace of the Circle of Ignitus]

 

Lore: When your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters; You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Ignitus" monster (from your hand). When this card leaves the field: You can discard 1 "Ignitus" monster; Special Summon 1 "Living Citadel Token" (Pyro-Type/LIGHT/Level 8/ ATK 2500/DEF 2500). The "Living Citadel Token" cannot be Tributed, and all damage taken from a battle involving it becomes 0.

 

"If you have ANY ideas on how to turn off this tower of terror," Galhalli stated as he watched the

animated palace emit columns of fire everywhere, "...start trying them NOW!!"

 

Both Mallestorm and Ignitus forces were now occupied with trying to evade the weapons of the temple.

"Well, I have one, but Lucien said it's only for emergencies...." the Kaishiinist stated, dodging yet another

such pillar of flame.

 

Bathra turned to him. "Well?!-is this not shooting enough pillars of DEATH to QUALIFY?!"

 

"Don't look at me like that! It was YOUR idea to activate the defense system!"

 

Camph started at that statement. "Wait-a-sec, you WHA-"

 

TSEEEW!

 

And then had to dodge more weapon-fire afterwards. "Summon the Champions, before we ALL

lose lives to this thing!!" screamed Ronan.

 

Sighing, the Kaishiinist raised a giant horn to his mouth.

BRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUM!

 

Lucien's eyes, if possible, got even wider. "Someone activated the palace's last defense!

It's not even stable yet, so it'll go after everythig that draws breath!"

 

"Still not seeing how this is a big problem." Kira said.

 

Lucien turned to her again. "Again, Kira, think! What is it that cannot-absolutely CANNOT-

happen here!?"

 

"Large gathering of power, but-."

 

"And just what do you think THAT shambling monstrosity's gonna force Camph and his forces

to do?!"

 

Kira understood now. "Call out the Champions of Ignitus...."

Lore: 1 "Circle of Ignitus" monster + 2 Beast OR Beast-Warrior-Type monsters

Must first be Special Summoned (from the Extra Deck) by shuffling the above cards you control into the Deck. (You do not use "Polymerization.") Once per turn: You can Tribute 1 "Ignitus" monster you control; This card can attack up to 3 monsters your opponent controls once each. When this card destroys 2 or more monsters in the same turn; Shuffle up to 3 FIRE-Attribute monsters from your Graveyard into your Deck.

Lore: 1 "Circle of Ignitus" monster + 1 Winged-Beast or Dragon-Type monster

Must first be Special Summoned (from the Extra Deck) by shuffing the above cards you control into the Deck. (You do not use "Polymerization.") When this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing Battle Damage to your opponent. I absolutely love this set. It is consistent, but there is a minor issue. Some cards seem too out of place. Its not bad at all. I like the idea and everything, but fine-tune it and it will be perfect.
