So before I leave, just my 2 cents about this place.

Okay so first off, I'd like to say that I may return in the future once my problems with this place have been resolved, though the chances of that are minimal. This has all been written from my personal opinion and if you listen to this or not is entirely your choice. So, my first problem with this place is YCMaker. He rarely ever visits, and when he does, he is only on for several minutes, not long enough to do anything. I mean, for the love of god, the christmas lights from last year are still up for some inexplicable reason, and that would only take what... 5 Minutes to change?

 

Next is the lack of Xyz Monsters, as of March 19th, 2012 the OCG has had them for a year, and on July 12th, 2012 the TCG will have had them for an year. There is literally no excuse at this point, I mean waiting one or two months for them was expected, but it's been an entire year and YCMaker hasn't even added them yet. Next is the problem of the card maker not even working, when you go to upload a card you get an error message. Does YCMaker know about this? Probably. Does he care? Probably not. Again, this wouldn't take that long to fix. When it's a forum called Yugioh CARD MAKER you'd expect the card maker to actually work. It's not just the card maker, there are bugs in the site ever since this new layout came along, the center, left and right features are still buggy.

 

Also, points are pointless. They had a use, considering you could buy name changes and whatever, oh look YCMaker forgot to turn on auto-restock, that's another function to tick off as broken! Even worse, YCMaker could fix these bugs if he got up off his damn ass and did something. Some sections are completely dead and some don't even suit a good purpose in their existance. Most members stay away from RC, although it got better with the advanced clause. Pop Culture is a dead section, full of people who know literally naught about YuGiOh recently, and simply comment on the artwork or say a card is broken or OP when it actually isn't. Any Other Cards serves a decent purpose but it might as well be called RC Reject Cards, as no one posts custom Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering or Cardfight!! Vanguard cards that often.

 

Written cards is a good forum, if only we could get the quality of posts there into RC, although the AC has helped the section a lot. Card Contests are almost meaningless and never really that well judged, so another pointless board. Creative Writing and Role-playing are commonly used forums. May I ask why it is under the YuGiOh! Section of Forums? Oh, YCMaker is lazy and won't move it. I have an entire rant dedicated to Your Deck and TCG, so I'll skip over those. Showcase, Tutorials and Shops and Requests are fine. Anime&Manga is alright, Movie&TV Shows is basicially dead at times, although along with Literature, it's nice to have it here. Video Games, fine, Music, fine. General is a needed board for almost any forum. C&O is my favorite forum here, and debates is useless. Introductions is a nice place for newer members.

 

Ok, so now you'll notice I forgot to talk about News, Q&A and Comments and Suggestions. Well that's because News is a dead forum because YCMaker never does jack sh*t, Questions and Awnsers is slightly active, and Comments and Suggestions was filled with "WHERE XYZ?!!!" Posts until it was rightfully locked. Okay, now for the rest of this post I'd like to talk about TCG/Your Deck.

 

So, where should I begin? Right, I'll start with this: Why is Pika the mod of TCG? Why not Evilfusion or Darkwolf? Those two have shown to show much more knowledge of the game than Pika, and to be honest Pika never posts in the section and usually only exists there to give out warns. Well, we have yet another problem in that this can't be solved by YCMaker, unless mods have powers in all sections then there's literally no point of having mods for each section. I'm pretty sure Pika has said her/his knowledge of the game is outdated, so why is Pika still the mod? Why not a mod of a different section? While this was probably most likely caused by my arrogant attitude and general annoyingness back then, but TCG, don't bite people's head off if they get something wrong.

 

I know I'm going to sound so hypocritical at this point because I've done it before, and it has calmed down quite a bit since last year, but we don't need any more "You're bad because you're bad." Type posts there as it really degrades the section as a whole, and LZ needed to post something in introductions stopping us from telling newcomers to avoid TCG. When you get to that stage, you've got a problem. While they are only words on a screen and yes, cyberbullying is blown out of proportion, but remember the fact that while it is only words on a screen it can be annoying or insulting to be repeatedly told you're bad, and then not given a reason. It's quite concerning when you feel you can't ask a question without getting your head bitten off. While TCGs are a highly opinionated topic and that many people perfer things over others and have different preferences, it's not a valid excuse to tell someone they are bad because they do not share the same opinion as you.

 

Again, I sound hypocritical as I did all of this, but over the past month or two months, I've changed quite a lot, and I really do look back and think: "God, I was a idiotic dickhead back then." So all your hate towards me was justified back then. Now though? Well, that's down to your own personal opinion so I'll leave it at that. TCG Rant over.

 

Now for some words on the mod team. Now, before I get accused at lumping you all together, I can say that Flame Dragon, LZ, Evilfusion, Cinnamon, Rinne, Yin, Koko, Icy, Black and to a certian extent Pika because it's a hard forum to moderate: You're all really good mods and you help the community a lot. So, thank you. If I missed a few mods here and there, it's not personal, it's just that you're either not active enough or I forgot your name. Again, most of the mod team are good and the rules are solid in most sections, although the mod team has been basicially under fire recently due to the banning of certian members, I won't go further into my opinions of this, as it's likely to get me banned as well.

 

As for my comments on the mod team it isn't that negative although I always seem to be getting warnings and bans. While we're on the topic of this, can we please have it so the Ban Screen displays what you where banned fo-Oh wait, this'll need YCMaker. So, my biggest comment to the mods, out of anyone here you have the highest chance of getting YCMaker online, and I'm sure you're actually trying to get him online.

 

So, what else can be said other than: This place sucks because YCMaker is never online. Anyway, thanks for reading all of this and feel free to send me an MSN Friend request, although I would like it if you told me who you where beforehand or I won't accept it, as for like how you can tell me this, I'll come online every 2/3 Months or so and check up on things. Again, I'm mostly leaving based on personal issues and I feel that there is nothing here for me, especially with my quitting of YuGiOh. Oh and I've suggested the IPB store amount of times but got a finger up my ass with people complaining about how hard it is to buy. Yeah thats what you get for going on a forum that has kids who can't f***ing click a botton for s***.

Only thing I'll bother commenting on is the question about TCG. Pika runs the section because she can tell where offenses occur without necessarily having to be knowledgeable on the topic. Is that ideal? Probably not. But TCG is high-traffic, where many threads are made a day and can easily become derailed by one random comment.

 

I've been told more than once that before Pika became TCG mod, the section was beyond terrible and significantly improved since then. The reason the section was warned about was because the TCG section is very...volatile. Some members are arrogant a-holes who prey upon "idiots". And let's not even mention how...passionate...some members are about certain people's opinions or their own on certain cards or Decks.

 

Even if you look at my own section. I'm a mod for Your Deck. Am I an expert Deck builder? No. But I still know when people are misbehaving.

 

And yes, YCMaker's persistent absence is slowly choking the life out of the site. We've been aware of this for many months. We can't do a thing about it.

Fun fact: half the topics in the Moderator Forum are dedicated to either insulting YCMaker or futilely trying to find a way of contacting him.
