.Spock
So dudes, a year ago today my best friend told me that she was contemplating suicide. I basically told her to stop being stupid and grow up in the form of a long winded conversation. I had no idea the s*** she was going through at the time, mainly because I had a fight with her and hadn't spoke to her in a while. She ended up going through with it. What are your views on suicide? Personally I think that it is not a cowards way out. I don't believe in Christianity or any of that bullshit so I don't believe that taking your life will send you to hell or whatever it may be. I also think that it isn't a selfish act due to the fact that if you regard the people around you, you yourself will remain unhappy for the foreseeable future. Speaking as someone who has contemplated suicide it's like having someone else making all your decisions your entire life. I guess the real moral of this story is to appreciate your friends and family and to let them know that everyday, even if you have had a fight with them or something. Because you never know, they could off themselves, be in a car accident, whatever. I can't help but feel I pulled the trigger that made her kill herself, regardless, it was her choice to do so. Obviously there are far more tragic stories than this, and I didn't meant to attention whore or whatever. I was just providing a little back-story to the subject. Please don't comment on her leaving this world and how you're sorry for the loss etc. Neither of us believed in God and both of us knew somewhere deep down that she would be happier in death. .Rai
I don't believe suicide is a coward's way out either. I do, however, believe suicide has a lot to do with clouded judgment. A lot of people are unaware of their problems in life being able to actually have a chance of going away. Usually there is some way out. Just takes some searching to find the solution, but people in such situations don't believe it. C'est la vie.
Simping For Hina
I contemplated suicide for about a time. It was during the time I desired to be accepted bu my peers, which did happen. I was too frowned upon others, but was accepted by people who looked to the extremes. I did the same when I joined, and everything seemed to be much more than it really was. I admit I did inflict pain on myself. My problems only caused more during the time, I never got rid of them. The issues were crap that everyone went through, my mind was just thinking about it too much.
Fusion X. Denver
Not sure if that's the best thread title... As for me, my views on suicide have changed somewhat. I used to have the viewpoint where it was a selfish thing to commit suicide due to the pain you're leaving your friends and family; I still think I might feel that way if someone I knew killed themselves. Right now, I simply feel that suicide solves nothing. You don't know what'll happen to you after you die. There could be a greater suffering awaiting you (though I don't want to believe God would condemn a confused teenager that never hurt anyone else) or there may be nothing for you. There could be Heaven, but is it a chance worth taking? Maybe to some it is, but I believe there's always another way out. The problem lies in helping people see those ways and taking them. Tentacruel
I personally don't agree with suicide. You only live once, might as well try to make the most of it.

John A. Zoidberg
Some countries have legalized assisted suicide. If a person is entirely unhappy with the world and truly feels like they would be much happier in death, let them die. It's not selfish to ask to not have to live through a shitty existence. Lucifer the Wise
I am too attached to the world around me to be depressed. As long as I am not living in a dictatorial country where I am starving and hurting and working everyday for nothing, I am fine. I don't need death, and I don't want it. To me, it's pointless. This world has a lot of things to teach the human mind, the things it went through and people who lived through it. To get to see the world has been a priviledge that I love. To talk to people who don't know me and hold a conversation with them on anything makes me happy. To help those who can't help themselves makes me happy. To voice my opinion gives me confidence. I don't care how sh*tty my life gets. As long as I get to see this beautiful world and see the wonderous people living in it then I am happy.
There was once a day when I thought there was no way out and that my life was a piece of crap and that I was worthless. Then one day on a forum my friend posted this in a suicide thread like this one and I have been jolly ever since. I can't thank my friend enough for what he contributed to my self esteem, and although he likes to brush what he did off as "Nothing" or "Just a coincidence", he helped me and I am mighty grateful. Ya hear that Cronus? Whether you want to hear it or not you helped me and you know it. Everytime I thank you you give me crap and say that what you did helped in no way shape or form even though it did. Cronus... Take the damn thank you for once in your life. I posted one post and suddenly you're inspired? I don't believe it. You and I can continue this pointless discussion over PM and not on here but seeing as how whenever you are on I am off that hardly seems likely. John A. Zoidberg
Well being an angsty teenager is a bad reason no matter what. I only really sympathize with those that truly do feel like they don't belong in life.
.Rai
Assisted suicide, I.e. euthanasia, is risky areas to tread. So far, it's only really legal for function-limiting diseases people can't live with. You definitely cannot qualify by being 'unhappy'.
