"

Destroy 1 face-down monster and remove it from play. If it is a Flip Effect Monster , remove from play all monsters with the same name from both player's Decks."

Just something I felt like discussing. IMO, it's a very under appreciated card. I understand that it's not exactly a universal staple, but I wish it would see play more often. I find myself constantly in need of this card, and i've even main decked 2 in X-Sabers with tremendous success. It stops many of the common Sets like Morphing Jar and Ryko, obviously and is a good way to clear a field for a direct attack if you're at the advantage (Of course, your opponent won't just leave the field empty, they'll set something inb4gorz.) I'm not saying this is the best card ever, i'm not saying it's the end all card. I'm just saying it's better than it's being given credit for and should see play more often.

Thoughts?

Guest Cat Queen

how the hell is morphing jar a "common set"

Also the card is bad and would only see use against like Chaos Dragons, in which case I'd much rather play Grand Mole or something.

it used to be good in the monarch days when it was at one. but in this format it's still safely at 3. i wonder why lol

Darkplant Vi Venom commands you. DIE!

...Okay folks, it's Darkplant - VENOM who just came back from watching Ep 1 of Code Geass and is therefore feeling like randomly commanding people for no real other reason.

Anyhow, today let's discuss on Nobleman of Crossout, a very powerful card that is guaranteed to work in 3s in any deck. It has absolutely nothing to do with Code Geass, whatsoever.

Now, on first glance Nobleman of Crossout may seem like a mediocre card. This is because it can't kill the problematic face-up monsters such as that random Grapha, Zenmaines, Horakthy-oh wait, you're already dead if that's out. However, you will probably find yourself with a lot of chances to use this card.

As everybody knows, there are two ways you can use up your Normal Summon - Summoning, or Setting. That seems quite obvious, of course, but think again, this time more seriously: There are only two ways you can use up your Normal Summon. You can interpret this as "half of the time you're Summoning, and the other half of the time, you're Setting". This means, if you draw this after your opponent's turn, you can activate this card over 50% of the time. Also, if you think of it, if you sucessfully activate this, it's the same thing as "your opponent got out nothing the last turn".

Another reason to run this is the fact it can get rid of many pesky effects that even the most powerful Trap cards like Torrential Tribute and the Solemn Trio can't kill. Monsters with FLIP effects (and other effects that activate upon flipping, on that matter) are almost always Set. However, you can't activate the aforementioned Trap Cards against a Set. You can even say those cards are useless if your opponent keeps on Setting Monsters (if you summon a monster and play Torrential Tribute on yourself, you can't gain back advantage unless your opponent already Set 2 monsters. Also, you can't summon other monsters, leaving yourself open for a Direct Attack). On the other hand, Nobleman of Crossout can Banish face-down monsters without attacking while fearing the unseen. This alone makes Nobleman of Crossout a very useful card that can efficiently give your opponent a devastating blow.

Already there are enough reasons to consider Nobleman of Crossout a major staple in any format, but there is still more to it. Nobleman of Crossout Banishes the target monster, which means that your opponent can’t gain Graveyard Advantage from it – a very useful effect even the dreaded Inzektor Hornet doesn’t have. For instance, if your opponent sets a Ryko, preparing his Graveyard to summon his Black Luster Soldier (a very powerful combo), his plan will be completely foiled by just this one card. Not to mention, this card Banishes ALL copies from the deck too. This means that (i) your opponent loses many powerful Monsters, meaning your opponent might not be able to draw many Monsters later on in the duel. Then, you can go for many powerful direct attacks, and (ii) you can Special Summon this newly Banished monster with Leviair the Sea Dragon. The existence of Tour Guide from the Underworld means you can quite literally Normal Summon it. And, if you can Special Summon the monster you just Banished with Nobleman of Crossout and Set it with Book of Moon…need I say more?

Now, one may say that Inzektors can’t run this, because Inzektor Hornet can destroy the face-downs. However, that is far from true. Inzektors are actually quite one of the best decks to run this in.

This is because of the major weakness Inzektors share – They’re powerless before Effect Veiler, Fiendish Chain, the Solemn Trio and other cards that can kill effects or monsters. If your opponent uses these cards, chances are you can be crippled by powerful FLIP Monsters. And, given Inzektors are a deck mainly revolving around gaining advantage, they are quite powerless if they can't do that. However, Nobleman of Crossout can help you gain back field advantage even if you couldn’t get off your bugs’ effects, and increases your chances of gaining mass advantage. Not to mention, much like Tour Guide, Dragonfly can easily bring out Leviair too. Face it: There’s no reason not to run this in Inzektors.

Thus, it can be concluded that any deck can run Nobleman of Crossout, and this card is an amazing, meta-defining card.

I know that feeling. Get through episode 3-4. That'll get you through episode 25. Then that'll get you through R2. Yup.

OT: GKs should be meta again.
