Sad Marshmallon

Recommended Posts

I was kinda using this rule as the balancing of the card:

"The name of "Harpie Lady 1", "Harpie Lady 2", and "Harpie Lady 3" is treated as "Harpie Lady" for all purposes, including Deck construction. So you can have 2 copies of "Harpie Lady 1" in your Deck and 1 copy of "Harpie Lady 2", but not 2 copies of each because you would have 4 cards in your Deck treated as "Harpie Lady". This restriction also applies to your Side Deck, so if you have 3 monsters treated as "Harpie Lady" in your Deck, you cannot have any in your Side Deck."

But I just found out that according to yu-gi-oh Wikipedia, this was a previous official ruling, so I don't know if this is still true or not.

Oh, and this card would be semi-limited along with "Marshmallon".

Thanks for the feedback. The image was just my limited gimp skills :).

Monsters with the same name via their effects are still ruled that way. One example is A Legendary Ocean and Umi, where you can only run a maximum combined total of 3. However no such ruling exists for semi-limited cards because the situation has never occurred, so there is no ruling to say if you could have a total of 2 of this and Marshmallon combined or if you could run 2 Marshmallon and one of this. However, the idea is entirely pointless anyway, since if Marshmallon were to move on the list then that would be all that's necessary to have it be allowed more spaces in a deck, and not another card that doesn't even have a different effect. Cards like this are essentially spam because they don't actually generate a new card, especially in this case, where you essentially have just posted Marshmallon with no thought in it whatsoever.

On the rulings part: Its been stated above. This is one of the reasons why I retrained the "Harpie" monsters in my True Force thread.

Second off, since its a "Sad" marshmellon, why not give him a "counter" effect. Marshmellon deals 1000 Damage, so maybe that should be the base effect for this monster, but the second one, maybe a little different such as...

"When this card leaves the field: Add 1 "Marshmellon" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand." or something.

It would actually be even better if it didn't have "This card's name is always treated as "Marshmellon"." and instead "This card's name is treated as "Marshmellon" while on the field or Graveyard." that way you can have multiple copies of this card.

Have it treated as Marshmallon when it's on the Field only, so you can run this and the real one while making them both usable with Glasses - maybe an entire archetype can be made. Seeing as the real one is happy and this sad, maybe you can gain... perhaps 1500 life points when it is attacked Face-down? Healing is useless in this game, so I thought it would work at 1500.

Also, if you look closely, you can see the box that was flipped to make this Marshmallon sad.

So, something more like this?

"This card's name is treated as "Marshmallon" while on the field or Graveyard. The controller of this monster that is attacked while this card is face-down gains 2000 Life Points after damage calculation. "Marshmallon"(s) on your side of the field cannot be destroyed by card effects."

At first, I was like "Woah, not 2000!" Then I saw that it couldn't be killed by card effects and was like "Really? What?"

Goes to show what happens when you don't read the thing completely.

2000 is a lot, but it isn't that bad if it can die in battle. I mean, Nimble Momanga does exist and if it isn't used, this probably wouldn't either outside of a Marshmallon Deck.
