The Echos

These cards I have been thinking about for a while, and I generally like the idea. They prevent many one-turn combos, and allow you to drop things where your opponent isn't expecting them. They are combo breakers, but also give your opponent large monsters with (mostly) good effects, so you have to be careful. Additionally, you will get control of the cards in the end, but cannot use them to attack. Thus, they can both get in your way and set up for more of your own combos.

They are going into my new set, echos of eternity. These are not all the echos I will release, but the most powerful ones. I have room for 1 more ultra rare, so any suggestions for that would be appreciated. Also, some pictures more appropriate for these card would also be appreciated. Of course, discussion of how I can better the effects themselves is always welcome :)

2 Level 4 Monsters
Once per Duel, you can Special Summon "Echo of Utopia" (from your Extra Deck) to your opponent's side of the field using his/her monsters as Xyz Material Monsters. (This card cannot be summoned in other ways.) When either player declares an attack: You can detach 1 XYZ Material Monster from this card and negate that attack. While this card has no XYZ Materials: Control of this card returns to its owner, but this card cannot declare an attack.

While this card has no XYZ Materials: Control of this card returns to its owner, but this card cannot declare an attack.

Comments: Actually pretty obsolete compared to the next card down, but still a great combo breaker, especially if you have already used up your Echo of the Acid.

Comments: This card is on the verge of being OP'd, if not already OP'd, except I am not exactly sure how I am going to turn it down. Not only does it get rid of 2 of their 3 stars, but it also turns off their Special Summoning for 2 turns. I am hoping that it is balanced by the 3000 ATK and the fact that after 2 turns you get it and it prevents you from special summoning, and also burns you for 2000 each turn, and cant even attack. But at the speed of the current game, I am dubious.

3 Level 4 Monsters
Once per Duel, you can Special Summon "Echo of the Shock Master" (from your Extra Deck) to your opponent's side of the field using his/her monsters as Xyz Material Monsters. ("Echo of the Shock Master" cannot be summoned in other ways.) Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to declare a card type (Monster, Spell, or Trap); that type of card (if Spell or Trap) cannot be activated, or (if Monster) cannot activate its effects, until the end of your opponent's next turn. While this card has no XYZ Materials: Control of this card returns to its owner, but this card cannot declare an attack.

Comments: This one is just weird more than anything else. It uses up 3 of their level 4 monsters, which is an automatic +2 in terms of card advantage, but you are giving them the opportunity to, for 3 turns, lock you out of one type of card. It seems a bit UP'd, if anything. Still, because it is so interesting, I put it at Ultra Rare.

Honestly, they're not even "combo breakers". If your opponent leaves a field containing 2 Level 3 monsters (presumably either Inzektors or TGU + Sangan etc), you're not dealing them much damage, if any at all. Extra Deck space is tight as it is, and you really wouldn't want to give your opponent a beatsick that will hurt you more than give you advantage.

Preventing them from doing any Special Summons effectively stops many combos. Leviathan is much weaker, but it still shuts down Wind-Ups. The rank 4s are more situational, but can break Rescue Rabbits and potential decks in the future.

How would the Rank 4's stop Rabbit if you clearly can only Summon those Rank 4's during your own turn, ie no Rabbit player will end their turn with 2 Level 4's when they can just as well Summon Laggia / Dolkka? Same with the Rank 3's.

A ) You can't summon these on your opponent's turn, so it doesn't stop a combo,

B ) Once the card hits the field, it's under your opponent's control; therefore, you have no control over the effects. If I were them, I would just NEVER detach any XYZ material and sit behind the free beatstick you just gave me so that you could never take it back.

C ) Echo of Utopia looks more like a Genex monster and Shock Master looks like a Morphtronic.

That, and the fact that Echo of Acid is pretty much the easiest beatsicker you could give your opponent, as Life Points don't matter in this current format, and the fact that they can just as well detach if they do not want to take the damage, then give it back to you and either leave you sitting with a monster that cannot attack, doesn't let you Special Summon and that deals you 2k damage during each of your Standby Phases.
