Max Darkness
Since others have been posting "Monarch" support recently, I decided to delve into my archive. While writing a couple of fan-fics, I created a small amount of "Monarch" support cards for them. However, this was the one that I kept finding ways to use. It's simple, yes, but then the "Monarchs" don't really need anything complex or esoteric to improve them in my view. Enjoy. seattleite
Hmm... I don't know if monarchs could use this over Treeborn Frog, which is what I thought their main engine was. It might be fine as a Spell (still the risk of a dead draw anyway)

My guess is that this could be Sided for the occassion of a top-heavy hand. It would probably work better as a Quick-Play Spell, since that if your opponent sprung anything during the Battle Phase, you could get a "Monarch" out of it. Perhaps a searcher might be of worth. seattleite
That's true, I hadn't thought of Fiend's Sanctuary. I like the Idea for a Quick-Play Spell, it makes monarchs active during your opponent's turn and helps that deck you were talking about. I say go with that
Sander
Why would you want to waste Deck space for a card like this if you're going to Tribute Summon a Monarch anyways, with or without it?
Dharc
Zanda, I believe that the effect is meant to summon a Monarch from the hand, and the summon is treated as a Tribute Summon...Unless I'm reading it incorrectly. The way it's worded kind of makes it a bit ambiguous as to how the effect ACTUALLY works...
The point of this card is that it gives you a second Normal Summon during your turn, or the chance to get a "Monarch" out during your opponent's turn, both times triggering their effects. Thinking about it, the effect could be re-written as: 'Target 1 monster you control, and 1 "Monarch" monster in your hand: Tribute the targeted monster on the field; Tribute Summon the target in your hand.' or something similar. What I wanted to convey was that it gives you an opportunity to get a "Monarch" out at an odd time, or (in its updated form) keep your field advantage if your opponent springs "Bottomless" etc.

I like the card not because of the summoning during your opponents turn (you really shouldn't need to in frognarchs your monarchs generate enough presence. Its that as a quickplay spell you can run some hilarious treeborn shenanigans during the standby-phase like most people pull of with enemy controller. Now that is a complete degradation of hand but I think it would be fun to already have a Caius, get frog, drop this summon raiza, get frog, main phase 1 Caius lol. Of course that's a horrible situation but still funny. Also if this card is meant to give you an additional tribute summon it should have the world additional in it somewhere. Alpakha
I like it, thugh i don't think many would run it, but it's fun and spammy ^^. Mobius pop 2 for safety>Imperial Council> Caius or Raiza for clear a monster> safe attack
My not explaining this card correctly is the problem. My general design for this was to be able to either get two "Monarchs" out during your turn, or to get a "Monarch" that would otherwise be banished or bounced by your opponent into the Graveyard, and get another "Monarch" out of that. Maintaining your field presence I suppose. As for the wording, it's running on the same (semantic) mechanics as "Super Double Summon" which allows you to Normal Summon again without mentioning it being an additional Summon. Since the Tribute Summon is part of the effect, I don't think it needs to say that it's an extra Summon. I could be wrong.
